Compatible Galaxy Note 8

Hi! Want to buy a Galaxy Note 8 model # that is compatible with straight talk. Can't get an answer from straight talk. I know phone has to be unlocked/out of contract. Does anyone know which specific model of Verizon cdma(the only network that works in my area) Note 8 would be compatible with straight talk? Would really appreciate an answer before purchasing the phone.

Can you explain bands and how do I match bands with the phone and verizon and straight talk?

That should allow you to determine if a particular Note 8 is compatible with your chosen carrier. AFAIK non-carrier unlocked Snapdragon variant Note 8 in the US should work with Verizon.

This article talks about a north American variant and then gsm + cdma. Then it says the phone frequencies have to match the carrier. I don't understand frequencies and bands. Since I am assuming you do, could you tell me which galaxy note 8 model #s in my area would work with Verizon and straight talk?

Yeh, Samsung using the same designation for a phone and tablet. That can be confusing.

You said your carrier is Straight Talk that operates on the Verizon network ? They'll tell you what you can BYOD, for activation and compatibility.

You have to already have the phone before they can check it and then if it doesn't work you're out of luck which is what I am trying to avoid.

Neither can I, that's the whole problem. They said it is based on individual imei's and since I don't have one they can't check it. It is really frustrating and I can't figure it out.

Im guessing that Straight Talk needs the Imei to check if the device is blacklisted before determining BYOD compatibility. Try calling

1-877-430-CELL (2355)

Centers operate from 8AM to midnight EST 7 days a week.

Talking to a Staight Talk representative, explain your situation and ask them for advice.
