I'm gobsmacked after looking at the
LA Times Obituaries page... So many deaths, and it's only the 2nd day of the year.
They include Don Larsen, the Yankee who pitched the only perfect World Series game in history; he died at 90. It pains me to post this, as one of our AF family is dealing with it, but Larsen died of esophageal cancer.
There are three others:
"Sam Wyche, who guided the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl during the 1988 season by using a no-huddle offense, died Thursday at the age of 74."
------
"The 20-year-old son of television producer Jenji Kohan, who created the series “Orange Is the New Black,” died in a New Year’s Eve skiing accident in Utah, police said Thursday.
Charles Noxon was pronounced dead after skiing into a sign Tuesday on an intermediate-level trail at Park City Mountain resort, police said."
-----
"Nick Gordon, partner of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown — the only daughter of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown — is dead at the age of 30, his lawyer said Wednesday."
