KDE Connect settings

I'm using KDE Connect with one of my laptops, and love it.

It's been awhile since I set it up, but I'm pretty sure I used these examples to create its commands. The commands are issued from my phone to do something on or to the computer.

Everything's great, except that what's supposed to be a screenshot [of the computer] saved on the phone is actually being saved on the laptop. Looking at its command makes it obvious why it's doing that:

The "file=/tmp/" line obviously needs to be changed--but for the life of me, I can't think of the location syntax for my phone! I have a KDE_Connect directory and would like to put the pics there, but can't think of how to specify it as the destination location.

In case you're confused by my rather confusing description, the /tmp directory referred to in the command is the laptop's /tmp directory, not the phone's. How do I specify a directory on the phone?

PS I have a feeling this is going to be a hand-meet-forehead moment...

Install KDE Connect On Android
Open F-Droid, and search for "KDE Connect." It'll be the first result you see. Tap on it, and tap the "Install" button. After the app finishes installing, you can run it.
Um...thanks?

Did you read my post? The first thing I said was "I'm using KDE Connect..." Installing it is not the issue.

Can you:
  • Download a file explorer like Astro or Google Files
  • Navigate to your desired destination folder
  • Copy the path to the folder from the settings/overflow
  • Copy/Paste where you need
Let us know if it works! Just an idea...
Thanks, Rob. Just FYI, since you're not around here much [that I know of!], I'm a 35-year *nix person. :)

You're definitely on the right track. This is the path I need to use:

But--and it's a big but!--the commands are entered on the computer, and path names are relative to it. So when I tried this (the last line):

I got exactly what I should have anticipated: a brand-new directory, on the computer, named /storage/emulated/0/KDE_Connect containing the screenshot...

So we're headed in the right direction. I need to somehow reference the device in the path name. Here's how KDE Connect appears on the computer; note its name for this device:

Thanks for any additional thoughts/suggestions you may have.
