How to stop annoying advertisements?

Hello, this is my first post.

I've got a brand new Android smartphone which is Android 9. But it's really annoying because every time I connect to the internet a bunch of advertisements shows up. especially when I am watching a youtube video. There is an advertisement before the video and in the middle, it again pauses the video and showing an advertisement which can not be skipped until 5 seconds. It's really bothersome.

Anyone know any kind of method or app for stop this?

Download Youtube Vanced to block all youtube ads and enable background play among other things. Google it and you'll find a guide on installing it for non-rooted phones. It's very widely used.

Download F-Droid, which is an open source app store, then download DNS66 to block the majority of other ads from sites/apps.

Those are your best bets without rooting the phone, but together they should remove 90% of ads.

Yea!!! Its an awesome app, I love the pop up picture in picture feature. Great recommendation @puppykickr. :)

Yes, it is a great app.
But today I noticed that it was not working.
Periodically, Youtube/Google changes things on their end to make apps like NewPipe and the like not work good or at all.

The good thing about this is that as I was checking on it I found that the devs were working on it for hours already.

This had occurred before, and I remember getting onto Github immediately after I noticed the trouble.

It had only been 15 minutes and there were many reports already.
Within 3 hours or so they had already pushed an update that fixed the issue.

Good!

I hadn't checked yet, I was mentioning the last time that this happened.

But I am glad that it is fixed and that the devs are still speedy about it.

After the update, I had to clear catche and data. Restarted the app and its working.

Their no way to stop them unless you pay form premium or the creator removes the ads

Unfortunately I am on the F-Droid version, and will have to wait until F-Droid pushes the latest update.

There was an update there yesterday, but it was for version 18.1 and I believe that the patch is in 18.2

This is what a I did. I ran the app then in settings turned off and automatic update. Then in phone settings forced stopped New Pipe then went back to the app and turned on auto update.
NewPipe pop up will appear asking confirmation to instaall the latest update.
Afyer the update, I turned ran NewPipe and it still didnt work so I went ahain to phone setting and forced stopped, cleared data and cathe and ran the app again. That fixed the issues I was having with NewPipe.

Yes, but if you look, you have version 18.2 of NewPipe.

As of today, on F-Droid the newest version was 18.1

F-Droid is slow to roll out new updates.

If it doesn't work, try force stop erase data and catche and run the app again.

It is more secure to download from F-Droid than using any app to download its own update. I guess, I've had NewPipe so long I just trust it. Im sure F-Droud will have 18.2 available for download very soon.
