I hate it! Everything is better on 2.1, don't get me wrong, except making and receiving calls. wtf... a phone should be able to make and receive calls. That is what a phone does and is mainly used for!!

After a reboot of the phone, the phone works flawlessly, but after making a few calls, the time it takes to actually connect and make the call gets longer.. sometimes even like 20 - 30 seconds later!!!!!!!

even answering calls are consistently 2 - 3 seconds laggy.

I know this problem is not just me. I have read so many instances where people tried to make a call, didnt go through, so they make the call again, only to find out that the original call actually went through, then the second one. All that cuz our phones cannot make calls properly and quickly.

Everything else is great on 2.1!! Map, navigation, apps, smoother all around, more icons.

But... I want to make phone calls when I want to!!! not 30 seconds later!!!

Dang it!

Re. Ringer lag - From member abourne:
--------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps I can try to bullet this:

* Call Sprint

* Ask for "Advanced Technical Service"

* Explain to them that you would like to change your Slot Index Cycle from '2' to either '1' or '0'

* Go to the phone dialpad and type in ##3282#

* After you hit the last '#' symbol, it's going to say "initializing"

* Next, it's going to want to know if you want to go into "view mode" or "edit mode"

Next steps require here the help of Sprint Support:

* Select "edit mode"

* It asks for a password

* Enter MSL number (must get from the Sprint representative)

* Go to the "Advance" tab in the "edit mode"

* Scroll down to Slot Index Cycle (it's going to be set to '2)

* Tap it and change it to '0'

* Once back in the "edit menu" hit the hard button menu button (next to the trackball) to bring up the save option to save your new settings

* This will save and reboot the phone

The only thing you need from the Sprint Rep when you call, is your MSL number, but you have to have them help you through the steps, because they won't just give you your MSL number if you ask for it.

Change Roaming Alert (step described above)

I think that about covers it!
------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems to help some, some not so much. Good luck!

I posted about this being the issue why Sprint did'nt release the update sooner two weeks ago. Theye were going to resolve by the 29th but released 2.1 before fixing the issue. Again they released a update without fixing a known issue.

So are you saying they will have a fix for this on the 29th? 5 days from now? hmmmmm...

I called tech support today and they told me that I had to take it into one those crappy repair stores. Why you ask, because this is a known problem for people that downloaded 2.1 via their computers instead of taking them into the store like they were supposed to. I had to ask tech support why was it wrong for me to download the update myself when Sprint made it available via the internet. She didn't have an answer but said it was obvious the update didn't finish (she couldn't explain why it was obvious either) but if I wanted my phone to be a phone again I was going to have to go to the repair store. I told her I would look for a new phone company before I go into either of those hellish stores.

LOL!!! She just wanted to give you an answer instead of being silent and seeming dumb.

Seriously, this is definitely a major issue. They need to try and fix it ASAP. I'm willing to reload 2.1 on my phone if it actually makes a difference.

For you info, there are many that did get there phones upgraded at a Sprint repair store and they are having the same issues as many, so they just like to pass the buck is what it sounds like to me
