How to add emergency information to phone

I read an article recently that said we should all have emergency contact information in our smart phones for first responders. I'd be dead before any first responders found any emergency information on my phone since I have been searching for the app and searching on-line for how to find it with absolutely no luck. Even the suggestions for Samsung Galaxy phones don't work on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S10e). Some say that "my profile" will be the first one in the Contacts: not true. Even if I look at my own contact (under my name alphabetically placed) there is nothing about emergency anything. There is an app on my phone that I can see information about if I go into Settings/Apps but there is no way to find the app on the phone.
Really appreciate any help.

Hi there,
Have you tried loading 'settings' then searching for 'emergency' there should be a result called emergency contacts. You can then add information and contacts that are viewable and contactable on the lock screen.

Try opening up your Settings menu and in the upper right there's a little magnifier icon (search), Tap on that and do a search for 'emergency' and it should result in a listing where can tap on 'emergency information' so it will open up the proper menu for you.

I was always told that first responders will look in your contacts for ICE, In Case of Emergency.

So I just save emergency contact info under ICE in my contacts.

I thought ICE meant Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the US? https://www.ice.gov/
And if you're an illegal immigrant they may well be interested in what's on your phone.

And from what I've seen, first responders will check if you're alive or not, before looking at your phone. Of course if your phone is locked, first responders ain't going to be seeing anything from it.

Of course first responders are going to worry about life first- as would anyone else that is at such a scene.
At times, like obvious death or after arrival to the hospital, then the task of notifying someone becomes more pertinet.
And if you are a first responder, the odds of you also being an illegal immigrant are exceedingly low.

I dont lock my phone. There is really nothing of consequence stored on it.

That being said, if I remember correctly some phones (if not all) always allow emergency calls, and I think they at lest used to allow the access to any number listed under ICE.

Of course, my memory of this all could just be a holdover from the days before smartphones.

My first celular was the 'Brick', after all, and did not have texting capability or even a calculator for that matter.

And I almost forgot, an option with the lockscreen on my phones is that I can put a number and a label that will appear on the lockscreen. (I do know for certain that this is a current option.)

So, if I were wanting such a thing, I could just put In Case of Emergency and then the contact number.

If the phone is locked, that will appear on the screen.

So I do that and here is what comes up: Emergency tone, emergency mode, Wireless emergency alerts, Send SOS messages, Emergency Provider, emergency manager service, emergency information, and Wireless emergency alerts ("app info"). Emergency provider, Emergency manager service, Emergency Information, Wireless Emergency Alters are all just "App Info" settings which aren't what I want. Emergency tone is what it says, Emergency mode is for times of low power, I guess. Wireless emergency alerts are just what it says. SOS emergency alerts are to send emergency alerts. The problem seems to be that while the phone says there is an Emergency Information app, I cant' find it anywhere.

When you do a search for 'Emergency' and all those resulting items are shown, just tap on 'Emergency Information' to bring it on screen. If you're looking for an app, don't bother, it's option in your Settings app itself.
It's difficult to be more specific as a lot of the manufacturers and carriers, especially Samsung, has a tendency to alter the user interface and items in the Settings menu. On my Moto phone Emergency Information is in the Settings >> Users menu but with your S10e it will most likely buried in a different menu option.

Lock Screen Message

Enter whatever you like and then
Save.
