Phone does not wake up for Incoming calls, the screen remains black. Also answer screen does not pop up when I'm using other apps on the phone. essentially I have no way to answer the phone and have to let it go to voicemail and then call the client back. Also getting an error message "Phone Keeps Stopping".

Model is Crown J7

This is my main business phone so hoping to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Thanks,
Rob

Just some very general suggestion but have you tried just restarting your phone? If this just started happening recently it could just be a one-off glitch kind of thing but if it's a more long-standing issue, how long has this problem been occurring?

You might also want to try re-seating your SIM card just to make sure it didn't get shifted out of position in its slot.

Also, try going into the Apps menu in your Settings, find and open the Phone app listing, tap on 'Force stop', and then find the 'Clear cache' button and tap on that. It might also help by looking in the Phone app's Permissions and its Notifications menus to see if something stands out.

Thanks Svim;

Tried all, but not resolved. I am always getting an error message pop up every time a call comes in ("Call Keeps Stopping"). I've googled it to death but cannot find any references to that specific message to see the specifics. It offers two options, 1. App Info, and 2. X Close App when I select App Info it takes me to the "Call" settings.. The only odd thing I see is "1 Category deleted. Two other options are there as well..."App icon badges" set to yes. and In call, silent which is set to no and is greyed out.

Still wondering if this is a problem that started happening recently or have you been having issues going back weeks or months?

If recently, is there any change or update you can recall that occurred around the same time things started to go wrong?

And who is your carrier? Check they're web site if there are any voicemail setup procedures listed. It might help to re-do the voicemail set up process.

Thanks Svim - problem started in the last week. Carrier is Straight Talk. They suggest factory reset.

A Factory Reset to fix a voicemail issue? Well, the nuclear option is one way to fix a problem. Be sure to back up all your data first, and be prepared to go through the whole setup process if you've done a lot of changes in your Settings menu. I'd go about fixing your problem from the least drastic then to more extreme measures, but if the opposite way works and you don't lose anything than a Reset is a nice way to clean out a lot of other issues that might have been building up over time.

Did you try re-doing your Voicemail set-up process?

I don't know if Straight Talk includes other options in its Voicemail service but check there if there are any relevant options to enable/disable.
