Help Sound Quality with Stereo Bluetooth

I have a Sony MEX-BT2800 and pair it with my Incredible. When I'm streaming music via Stereo Bluetooth, I hear kind of a crackling, squeaky noice in the background. Its not that noticeable but its there. Doesn't matter if its streaming music or mp3 from my phone. I found someone with the same problem on a WINMO phone and got into some advanced settings to fix it.

My question is, does anyone else have this problem? And is there any kind of advanced settings program that would give me access to bluetooth settings he changed?

I just tried it out on a pair of bluetooth headphones and still got the same sounds so I don't think its an issue with my stereo. Just sounds like its playing at a lower quality than through regular wired headphones.

Try another media app. I have been using my BT stereo headset without any issues for streaming MP3s, Pandora, and SportyPal (Gives you sounds when distance/time reached, speed, etc)

Already tried that. Doesn't matter if it is the music player, pandora, or rhapsody.

I would imagine it would be more likely after it's been rooted.

Why is root always the solution to problems well beyond software problems?

I purchased two different stereo wireless systems, one black berry and another. THEY BOTH SUCK. Crackling, buzzing, etc, all the things that you mention. I could see this being acceptable if I were using a speaker of the same quality as a cellphone speaker, but not for a stereo system at home or in the car. I wish there was some way in this world to get SPDIF optical output from the device (THAT might require root, but not enough interest for someone to implement it).

Hmm... tomorrow I'm going to install bluetooth on both of my cars... this thread isn't making me happy about my purchases.

Well I used an aux cord instead of bluetooth this weekend and the sound is much better. This is using the built in mp3 player, Pandora, and Rhapsody. I really wish I could find a solution to this.

I am having the same issue with my HTC Incredible paired to my Pioneer deh-p6100bt. I am starting to think this is an Android software issue after doing a little searching.

I agree. If it sounds fine via aux jack but not bluetooth on my stereo, and also the same with wired headphones vs bluetooth, then its not the stereo or headsets, its the phone. I wish I could find a program to configure the bluetooth settings.

I have had issues getting my inc. to play consistent stereo sound through the bluetooth connection. Sometimes it plays out of only the left speakers when paired to my blue tooth head unit in my car.

I haven't had this problem. I've played thru the stereo bluetooth for about an hour drive 2 weekends ago with no problems other than the one I'm having.

this phone is the worst at audio playback. for sh!ts and giggles, I loaded the same album on my old school black and white iPod, and my incredible. I hooked the DINC up to my car stereo's aux jack with a 1/8" plug from the headphone jack to the head unit. Audio quality was piss poor on the DINC. I have very high end speakers (Hertz) and very nice quality 8" subs under my seats, and this sounded like TOTAL trash. This album was encoded in 320kbps MP3, by the way. I tweaked settings to try and make it sound acceptable, but no luck. I'm incredibly picky about SQ, and I honestly can't listen to music on the DINC. it's that bad.

also, the volume level it outputs at is strangely low. when I plug it in to the car stereo via AUX, I have to crank the stereo WAY up to hear it worth a damn.

EDIT: forgot to mention that the same songs, played through the car stereo via the iPod, it sounded perfect.

Hrm... I guess im in the minority... I use bluetooth for my car audio everyday and it has worked perfectly.

When the media volume is turned down the audio quality also goes down on the Dinc. Make sure you have media volume on the phone cranked to max. Even then it's not perfect but is much better than even with it 3/4 the way up.

Also keep in mind the bluetooth is just like wireless internet, there can be compression and decoding issues that you wouldn't find going through a headphone jack.

I'm not sure what I did differently but I gave the blue tooth stero pairing a try again and there was no noises. Silence was silent and everything sounded as if I had it hard wired. Pretty happy. Hope it keeps up. Only thing is I have to go in to bluetooth settings and manually tell the phone to connect every time. Not sure how to get it to automatically connect when in range.
