I have had (2) lines with Sprint month-to-month for past three years. Never a late payment. The Sprint rep just called me to inform that there is $50 deposit for the Evo.
It is normal?
Honestly I don't mind. My brother had to place a deposit for his M3. But this is a phone!

Was the rep referring to a deposit to pre order the phone or was it 50 for deposit due to credit score? I suggest that you contact Sprint Customer Service @ 1-888-211-4727 to get clarification.

When I went into Radioshack Saturday, the 50 they requested was a deposit for pre order; I previously went into a Sprint store and the same 50 was requested there as well.

Keep in mind that the 50 dollar deposit is to ensure that a phone is reserved for you to pick up in person on the release date of June 4th. Hope this helps!

I have no idea what you are really trying to say (honestly - not being a smartass). Why would a sprint rep randomly call you? To place a PREORDER it is $50.00 at Radioshack or Best Buy.. Sprint is not doing preorders and if you already have a line then there is no deposit required (and normally Sprint doesn't charge one anyway just spending limit).

So not really understanding I guess..

Actually in Atlanta the Sprint Stores are taking deposits for the EVO...It may be regional.

could be.. thanks :D they laugh at you in Cali LOL

Let'em laugh! I chose Radio Shack to get away from the Mail-In Rebate; Plus, I get to laugh because Atlanta is a 4G market and LA is not at this time!! :D

Quick question, did the San Andreas Fault shift again, or was it the number of Californians getting ready to dump the iPhone that I just felt??? ;)

LOL no I meant when we call them they laugh when asked if they will do a preorder (aholes lol) ... nope I don't have 4g yet (and I am in OC so crossing fingers it comes with the LA rollout) but I will be happy without it..

I can always use the excuse to go to Vegas right - only 4 hours away ;)
