No text notifications in galaxy note 10 plus

Verizon wireless. Not carrier locked. I'm using go sms pro, but every texting app does it.
you might want try calling verizon. when i got my note 10+, i switched from sprint to verizon and was having issues with receiving text messages as well. turns out it was a glitch on verizon's end, it has been fine ever since.

Hi Julianna, and welcome to Android Forums!

When I got my Note 10+, I used Smart Switch to move everything over and had no issues with texts at all. I agree: contact Verizon (probably by chat, as finding a human being at Verizon by phone is near impossible). If there is a corporate Verizon store near you, a visit may better serve your needs.

Hey chief! 😊I used smart switch too. No dice. You really think Verizon could help get my text notifications working? And you can't get ahold of anyone anymore!!! 😡

Wow, a triple quote! I'm flattered!

:D

Well, Julianna, I can only suggest a few things here...

1: Make sure your notification volume is up. Settings - Sounds and Vibration - Volume and set the Notifications volume slider to your preferred loudness.

2. Make sure your text app notifications are set. Settings - Notifications and select your text app. For example, I use Pulse as my text app. If you use the stock Messages app, select it and make sure it's ON. Under the "Recently sent" apps, tap "See all" at the bottom to, well, see all your apps. Turn your text app on.

3. Enable Notifications in the app permissions. Settings - Apps select "All" and scroll to your text app. If you don't see it, use the overflow menu (three dots, upper left) to Show system apps. Then select it. Under the app settings, ensure Notifications are ALLOWED - plus you can select which notifications you want to receive.

That's all I can think of, Julianna. Let's hope it works!

Yeah, if the messages are arriving but there are no notifications, and it doesn't matter what SMS app you are using, then somehow the problem has to be with the system notification settings. Unfortunately as I don't have one of these devices I can't know the settings layout or any Samsung-specific options there might be, so I'll defer to my friends here on detailed advice.

Is it just SMS notifications that are affected?

The one other thing I can think of is to make sure your SMS app is excluded from battery optimisation. Just wondering whether the phone might be putting the app to sleep, with the result that it doesn't notify you of message receipt until you wake it up by opening the app?
