Email attached photo to Gallery

Hi,
Can anyone please advise how to copy a photo received as an attachment to an email, to the Gallery folder on a Galaxy S7. I've seen some procedures on the internet which say "display the photo on the screen and Tap and Hold on the photo and a box will pop up with three options - save image, copy image and cancel"
However, having tried this several times, a 'pop-up box' does not appear....

Any help would be very much appreciated... Thanks

Hi tommo47,
Thanks for your reply... much appreciated :)
I use the Android Email app which comes with the Operating system - not the Gmail version.
If I open the app to just see the attachment (not tapping on it to open it), there is an option to 'Save'.
Tapping on 'Save', a pop-up message says it has been saved in my Download folder.
If I then exit and open my 'My Files' folder, I can see the attachment in the folder. Tapping on the attachment (it's a picture) opens the picture. If I tap the top right three dot menu, there is no option to copy or move to another folder. There are some icons at the bottom of the display (5 of them) but none offer the option to copy or move the picture to another folder or my Gallery.....

Do you have Gmail on your device?

I'm not familiar with Samsung devices and I know there are significant differences between different devices. On my HTC devices I have always been able to go into 'downloads' and have the option to move or copy files.

Hi Again,
Thanks for your patience......

No, My Files is just a folder which has a group of Sub folders which have files such as Downloads, documents, photos, videos, audio etc.

I don't have the File Manager app - which you show above - I understand that there are apps of this type available for download.

I've been doing some more experimenting on my Galaxy S7 and found a solution... albeit a very long winded one !!

This is what I found :
1. Tap Gallery
2. Tap Abums
4. Tap Downloads
5. Tap menu (3 dots)
6. Select edit
7. Tap on the required picture (then shows tick mark)
8. Tap on menu (3 dots)
9. Select 'Copy to Album'
10. Select the required Album - say Camera..
11. Picture is copied to selected album...

I would have thought that on an advanced device like a Galaxy S7, there would have been a simple way of transferring files from emails to the Gallery... but apparently not!

I'm continually surprised at the differences between devices, and as you say logic/simplicity seems to go out the window sometimes.

Anyway, I'm glad you've got a result.

I may be wrong but I would have thought that if two smart phones of different manufacture, were running the same Operating System (in My case Android 8.1) then they would have basically the same facilities.... After all, two different Laptops with the same OS installed will have the same basic facilities - notwithstanding downloaded apps of course.....

Thanks again for you time and patience Tommo... Really appreciated ! Stay Safe.....
