I just bought a Samsung Galaxy J2. I don't have internet at home so I must use my Kindle Fire & laptop through the phone's WiFi to get online. I followed instructions in manual but neither device detects the WiFi signal. Nor is the WiFi name or password found in the phone or in the paperwork like it was with my last phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi.

Do you have a Hotspot symbol in the Notification shade?

You should have a Hotspot Password line in Hotspot and Tethering under Network and Internet. Tap that line of dots to see or change the password and hotspot name.

These Settings descriptions will vary upon make and country. Samsung use different terminology iirc.

If you have done this with another phone then you will have a tethering data allowance on your plan?
