How to change notification sounds

Since my Galaxy S9 updated UI 2.0 version 10 I can't figure out how to change notification sounds for individual apps. It used to be right in notifications under sound where is it now?
What if you go to the individual app? Do you find its notification settings there? Your path may vary, but mine is:

System Settings | Apps & notifications | App info | [your app] | App notifications

Do you have sound settings?

I've always changed notification sounds for individual apps within the individual app's settings, not the system settings.

But with a more stock Android 10 than Samsung have it is possible to do it through system settings, just a bit of a faff: Settings > Apps, find the app, click on notifications, long press on the class of notification you wish to modify, look under "advanced", find "sound", use that. I generally find it less effort to look in the app's own settings than wade through all of that, since most apps I want to customise provide an option there.

It's strange, no matter where I look there's nothing about sound notification for apps for example if I look at gmail in notifications it doesn't talk about sounds, if I go directly into the app it doesn't talk about sounds the only one I could find that I could change the sound for is WhatsApp which gives me a list of sounds if I want to change it can't find sounds on any other apps. I used to just go to Notifications, sounds and could change the notification sound it's not there anymore

@Billybronco seems to have it sorted now @MoodyBlues :).
Yeah, I know--but I'm gobsmacked that my method apparently didn't work.

That would be such an anomaly...such a fluke...I'd like confirmation that it didn't work, hence he had to find a workaround.

Yes I tried your instructions and it didn't work. Once my phone updated so many things changed and now I have to learn new ways of doing things.
Okay. As I pointed out, your path may vary, but should be similar to:

System Settings | Apps & notifications | App info | [your app] | App notifications

Start in System Settings. From there, see if you can find something resembling 'app notifications' or just 'notifications.' If you can't...there's something very wrong! I know updates change some things, but eliminating one of Android's built-in features would be a new one on me!

If you want, post screenshots of your system settings. Maybe seeing them would help sort this out.
