I have read multiple guides how to root android phones however it was without succes.

I saw that you have to enable USB debugging and unlock OEM, however I dont have the option to unlock OEM on my phone.

I downloaded many files including SDK with twrp.img/ Odin with twrp.tar? (is it the same as twrp.img?).

So the first step is to install twrp on my phone. The first thing I did was using odin program. I added the twrp tar file on the AP section but it didnt work. On my phone it says: Installation failure. You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS. What do I need to do here?

I also tried cmd command by clicking it in the SDK map containing the twrp.img of my model.

I wrote adb devices to check whether there is an android phone connected to my PC -> I saw my phone on the cmd screen.
Then I wrote adb reboot bootloader -> it rebooted my phone.
Next, I wrote fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-zeroltezt.img -> it says waiting for any devices?

Can someone help me? I have been stuck for 8 hours only to try to install twrp in my phone....

I think one of the first things you need to do is to enable Developer Options. Haven't fooled around with a Samsung phone in a while but you should be able to go to Software Information and find the Build Number. Tap on the Build Number 7 to 8 times in succession to enable Developer Options.
After enabled, go to Settings and you should find Developer Options listed at the bottom. In Developer Options, you should find the toggle for OEM unlocking.

I already did that. I was able to enable USB debugging but I couldnt see OEM.

Did a little checking at XDA. Seems the SM-G9250 is a model made for China. This is a thread I found that a few reported success unlocking the bootloader
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...o-bootloader-unlock-s6-edge-sm-g9250-t3086325

Thank you for the link. Indeed I bought my phone in Hong Kong.

After downloading CROM services I was able to fix:Installation failure. You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS.

Now I ran into a new problem. After flashing twrp, I was stuck in a bootloop. Eventually I saw a white flash followed by black screen. Booting normal and booting in recovery mode is not possible. The only thing I can do is to boot into download mode.

Do you know if the version of TWRP you flashed was correct for the Hong Kong variant S6 Edge you've got there? Because S6 for China, including Hong Kong, uses Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. Most other countries have Exynos SoC. and so most TWRP and other custom devs work with Exynos.

I downloaded CPU Z to check which SoC I had. It says Exynos Octa 7420 not Qualcomm.

How do I know which twrp file I need to select. I just went to twrp.me and selected the twrp file for samsung galaxy s6 edge -> China (SM-G9250) -> Primary Europe and then I see several twrp files but they didnt mention anything about twrp files specific for Exynos or Snapdragon.

I was able to fix bootloop by flashing original firmware through odin. I tried to flash twrp again with an older twrp file but it keeps bootlooping my phone. Is there anyway to flash twrp?

What about CF autoroot and then flashing twrp? Does it work that way? The reason why I want to install twrp is to install Magisk.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (bought in Hong Kong)
SM-G9250
Android version: 7.0 Nougat
Baseband version: G9250ZTS2ERC1

I downloaded Odin v3.13.1 and twrp-3.1.1-0-zeroltezt.img.tar (https://eu.dl.twrp.me/zeroltezt/)
I also have CROM services APK installed because I had no standard OEM unlocking on the developer options.

The post on your link is 5 years old. I dont know if this still applies for me.

Not sure what software version you are on but check second post here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/rom-stock-deodexed-rom-g9250-t3182578/page3

Unfortunately, the google drive containing the twrp file is not there anymore. It is down.

Is it possible to flash other S6 Edge firmware such as International GSM: SM-G925F on my phone and then download the twrp corresponding to that firmware?
Perhaps that way I can go to the recovery mode of twrp.

The problem now is that flashing twrp works fine but I get stuck (bootloop) on the screen. Going to normal boot and recovery boot is not possible anymore unless I flash the stock firmware back to my phone.

Thanks for the link. It seems that these twrp files are newer than the one I used.
I was able to flash twrp through odin but the moment I was on twrp screen, I couldnt press anything.
But I couldnt swipe nor click. I saw there was a locked sign

Thats odd, Its been a will since I been on the initial "alow modifications" page but I do remember swiping unlocked. I'm not sure what would be preventing this and its an occurrence I had never know to happen, until now. . Perhaps try flashing the next lower version TWRP.img.tar or even reflashing the same one you already did.

PS: Is your touch screan fully functional? Yes?
