Another HELP, Emergency!!

Right off the bat this Wasn't my doing (for those who have helped me before). Cousin gave a semi friend my hotspot access and password. I've toggled it off, but what other safety steps should I do to make sure she'll can't access my phone (pictures, videos, browser, etc). I've been turning off phone when not in use and I'm missing business calls. Anyone, Anyone at all know anything????

While they're connected you'll be charged for any data they use per your monthly data plan. Wi-Fi compatible devices can connect to the Internet via a WLAN and a wireless access point. Such an access point (or hotspot) has a range of about 20 meters (66 feet) indoors and a greater range outdoors.
Unless they are close by you really need not worry.

When the hotspot is turned off she can't do anything. You don't need to turn the phone off.

When it's turned on she can use your data allowance, but that doesn't give her access to content on your phone.

If you don't want this, change your hotspot password and don't tell your cousin the new one (or tell him/her that he is not to do so). Even change the hotspot SSID if you want, You'll have to change it in your devices as a result, but that only takes a couple of minutes at most.

Just want to add a second to what @Hadron posted.

It's your hotspot WiFi network so just go into your Settings menu and change its password. And be sure to tell only the people you want to be able to use it the new password (with a request not to pass it on to others).

Hey thanks for the quick response and information, but one other thing is the password that's on their now is all numbers. Do I just make something up using only numbers are words. Again thanks All.

Make up whatever you want. My hotspot password is a mix of letters and numbers.

A great app that can help you with this, and your other passwords, is Bitwarden.

It will sync up to all your devices, is simple to use, and works great.

It can make up passwords for you, that would be next to impossible to guess.

Hey"puppykicker" thanks I did install bitwarden from pureapk and I'm still trying to figure it out. Their support system isn't so great,ask two questions and after that your ignored. I want my passwords out of google chrome so I can get rid of it. Been using Qwant. So far so good. Any info would be great. Also sorry for so long to respond but can't have my phone in chemo treatment. Stupid nurse. Thanks

ApkPure is nice, and probably better than Google PlayStore, but I recommend getting it from F-Droid.

That way you know for certain that there are no trackers or other junk attached to it.

It will not help you to retrieve passwords from sites that you have not already entered passwords into.

So, it can't help you there.

But it sure is nice to sync between all my devices, even if the Auto-Fill feature won't work with the browser(s) that I use.

One of the most frustrating things for me is to log into any site, considering that users seem to have more trouble getting into their own accounts than hacker's do when getting into someone else's.

Anyway, here is the link to get Bitwarden from F-Droid.

You will need to uninstall whatever version you have now, so be sure to remember your master password for Bitwarden.

As long as it has been connecting to the web when you use it, all the passwords that you have already saved will be in an encrypted 'vault' online on the Bitwarden site.
(That is how the sync between devices works.)

Damn, I thought the radiation they pump me up with finally got to the brain. 404/not found error is what I kept getting on six attempt. So I just stuck with Apkpure app. Since 32 app from there is already installed. Thanks All..

The problem is that you don't have the F-Droid app.

Also, Bitwarden is on its own repository, so you will need to add that to the repositories section in the F-Droid app.

gives the impression that the link leads right to the app. But it doesn't.

In fact, I am surprised that this is news to anyone on this forum, lol.

Speaking only for myself, repositories are things I deal with very rarely, when needing something that the [K]Ubuntu default repositories don't have. On Android, I buy all my apps through the Play Store. So, for me, it's no mystery why following a standalone link, expecting to be taken to the app it named, resulted in confusion at seeing 404.
