Bluetooth earphones connect but won't play audio

I recently got the T01 Truly Wireless Earbuds, and they were working fine with my Galaxy J3 until a day ago. They connect just fine to the phone, but will not play audio. It will basically be mute, even if I have the volume all the way up. I've tested the earphones with other devices and they work, so I know it's an issue with the phone. I've paired and unpaired, restarted my phone, and reset network settings, but nothing solves my issue. If the issue requires me to factory reset, I'll just suck it up and get a new phone, but I want to see if I can solve this issue before it comes to that. I have sought out general advice for Bluetooth and Samsung/Android but I've had no luck. Any advice?

Have you tried to pair your phone with another BT receiver? Have you tried a different music player or streaming service? When paired and connected to your buds do you receive audible notifications and have the ability to hear a phone conversation? Have you tried forgetting the BT connection with your buds and rebooting your J3 before trying to reconnect to your buds?

I have tried, but with my computer which is a BT reciever. I tried multiple apps and none of them worked with the buds. I do not receive notifications/calls from the phone but I get an audible notification that the earphones have connected. There is no forget option as far as I know, but I did reset network settings which erased the connection, and when I reconnected I still had the same issue.

Reading up a bit.. I see that unpairing is achieved with your network settings reset. I had hoped that rebooting the phone between the reset and the pairing process might help.

Was there an update or new app installed at the time your BT problem arose?

I wish I had something helpful to lend.
I don't believe there were any updates. No new apps for certain. I haven't tried rebooting between the reset and the pairing process, will let you know if that works or not.
