Help NūVision brand tablet blocked from Google -everything.

i baught a tablet from WalMart then found out was blocked from using Google Play 〔i think a geek told me every app or its patch or its O.S. is obselete〕it was in the in their marked-down area like where the stuff is in a bin or open cage, so i couldn't return it for because of any
warranty.
i took it to a geek after their return purchase period then found out about it.
it's pre-owned, can i “root” it? can i tell if it was rooted before WalMart took it back?

What the specific model do you have? For instance my Samsung is a Note 4 sm-n910p.
i'll have to get you the internal details on it later,
apologise it took me this long to respond, i've been away from homein {where it is stored}
Also: i had strong doubt that anybody on here would. respond to my question.

Also, a somewhat reccent malfunction: it says any micro chip (memory card) i slide into it is corrupt, 1 of mine it won't even show me the option to eject it.
It never had this problem the year i got it, and the following year it it did, i was shown the options of ejecting it or formatting it.

I would guess that the slot is either dirty or damaged. It can be difficult to clean mircoSD slots without damaging them.

In any event, this was a cheap tablet when it was new in 2016. The last time they were available, they were selling for ~$30 new. That should say something right there. If you have any personal data on the tablet, back it up. Then try a factory reset, log in and check for system updates. Apply any updates available then clear all caches (assuming this thing has recovery) and factory reset again. This should give you the latest and cleanest version of Android for your device. If after all that, you can log into your Google account, but not access the play store, take a hammer to it.

Thanx for the humor!

It could be the Trump(POTUS45) embargoes and US censoring of Chinese products.
WHAT THE ⚠; IS THAT???
seriously, because my auntie had a ZTE phone (she got about 2 or 3 years ago with a sub-phone service-provider of T-Mobile)
she accidentally left it in her car & it was in the blaizing summer heat sittin in a gas station cup which had just enough water in it to saturate the inside of it —fogging up the screen also,
Now, seasons later, the battery wont show more than 92% while charging –powered off, it shuts off around 15%-to-26% }}most of the time @15 to 20 %{{
it –more often‐ shuts off without warning, then she has to charge it to NEARLY FULL before she can power it back on!
connecting it to a WiFi SOMEHOW shuts it off like within a snap!
She stop using it for phone service just before or just as the reporting of The Pentagon or The Whitehouse stopped ALL Hawei & ZTE phones from being imported & (perhaps sold too) in The U.S.
