Issue with wallpaper after a reboot

I have a LeEco Le S3. I can change my wallpaper but once the phone automatically locks, it reverts to the yucky system background. Can I make the change permanent? Thanks.

To be clear, does the system background only appear when the phone is locked, and then the background of your choice returns after you unlock it?

Are you still running the stock OS on that phone? LeEco hasn't been in the US now for a couple of years and hasn't updated since release. I recall the original was buggy to the point of feeling more like a beta. I'd recommend flashing the thing with Lineage OS.

Getting past some of LeEco's Marshmallow-based eUI could be a real problem. You might want to try using a very capable, third-party launcher like Nova:

but depending on how locked-down eUI is at system-level, that might not be a workable solution either.

These are actually pretty easy to flash with an alternate ROM. I have an S2 as a beater phone that I've been running LineageOS much better.

No - my choice disappears on e I unlock the screen after it has been locked for a while.

Do you have any 'cleaner', 'booster', or similar apps that are maybe set to clean the device when you unlock it?

I have one but not set to autoclean. Thanks. I changed launchers and problem was solved.
