Okay, it's ZERO DAY: the wait is over! For some of us, August 19 is delivery day for our pre-ordered Note 20 devices. And this is the thread to report your receipt of your new phone; unboxing photos & videos; and first impressions.

I'm almost afraid to use Jeanette my Note 10+ to take pictures and videos of the phone that's replacing her... it's almost like phone cruelty...

    :p

Phone and buds showed up a couple hours ago. These phones are always worth the wait and the 20 5G so far is meeting my expectations. I did not have the 5G version of the note 10+ so the 5G part will be fun to try out.

haha- I just used my trusty old Nexus 6 camera to snap the photos and video. Had the notre 10+ boxed up and ready to be picked up by fedex. He gave me the note 20, in return I gave him the note 10+..

    Mine showed up, too!

I made unboxing videos of both the phone and buds... as I feared, Jeanette is in rebellion. For no good reason, the videos have NO AUDIO. Coincidence? I think not!

EDIT: First impression is that I'm not sure about that camera module. The telescope lens sits right where my index finger wants to rest... meaning that I need to bend my finger more to avoid a lot of smudges on it. Ergo, a change of behavior to suit a device - that is supposed to suit me.

I also learned that the module does NOT use Gorilla Glass 7, so it's more susceptible to cracks... and it's begging for those! I ordered a protector for the camera module, as well as front & back film protectors.

    Got mine today!
Was on my way to work today morning, then got a call from the Samsung store! Phone arrived and they have limited quantities for the first batch. Told me to come quick.

In this region, or specifically for Muslims, it's the Islamic New Year and a public holiday. So if not today I'd have to wait until Sunday to get the phone.

Turned my car around to go get the phone.
I am now prepping to transfer from the 10 plus

majority of people have their own personal buds and it was a calculated risk for samsung not to include the wired buds in the box. i have several of these from past note purchases and have never used any of them.
plus with their new buds line, they want you to use your accessory credit (if you pre order) to get their BT ones, so again makes sense on their part.

of course there are outliers and some people don't have buds of their own and don't want to purchase BT models, such as your case i reckon.

You reckon wrong, I have a set of BT AKG buds I love and will continue to use, It's a matter of principle as much as these phones cost and the fact that every single (insert brand name here) cell phone I've ever bought came with them.

    guess i reckon wrong :)

id rather samsung cut costs with useless items that many wont even use than to increase the phone cost. just like you many people feel the same way, even though those same people also stated they would not use the phones anyway. again there are outliers out there who would...

im also getting the z fold 2 and i dont think it comes with buds either. again i couldn't care less and wont be pressuring samsung to send me some. :)

Got mine a couple days ago. So far so good. Tad annoyed I had to fish thru the Samsung web site to request a set of ear buds that should have come with it to begin with, but overall I'm pleased. Got $650 trade in for my Note 10+.

Can send you a pair if you want?

I got about 6 pairs of ear buds in a drawer that came with various phones over the years, including Samsungs, never used and still sealed in their bags.

Maybe Samsung is trying to do their part for the environment? Like trying to reduce the amount of discarded ear buds that might otherwise go into landfill. :thumbsupdroid:

    Almost a month later.
    Still like it?

Nope. I gave it a week to impress me enough to keep it. It didn't.

Yep, I sure did. There are some great things about it, yes. But the not-so-great things are so unnerving that they outweighed the benefits. For a left-handed person, this is probably the best Galaxy Note in the line for them, and they;ll love it. I'm not left-handed, though, and found myself having to adapt to simply retract/insert the S Pen. It is completely counterintuitive... and Samsung seemingly forgot that the S Pen is at the center of the Galaxy Note experience. Why did they move it to the left side of the phone? To make room for the monster camera module - and that's my other point of contention. It's not just big: it's obnoxiously big. Just setting the phone down is a stressful action, as the first part of the phone to land is that camera module. Between adding additional motions just to use the S Pen and being constantly paranoid about cracking the camera module, I was over that phone in a matter of days. I hope you folks enjoy yours, though.

I'll keep them as back up in case I forget my BT buds at home or forget to charge them (has happened many times), I have the wired buds that came with my N10+ in my tool box at work, the set they'll be sending I'll keep in my work van. I like to be prepared because a work day without music is a WORK day if ya catch my drift. :D

Well I can add two more pairs of unwanted earbuds to my collection.
    1) A wired USB AKG set that came in the box with the new Note20 Ultra 5g.
    2) A pair Bluetooth Galaxy Buds+, that also came with the above phone.
I did try them out, but as they're the rubber tipped type ones, I've never found satisfactory and are uncomfortable shoved in my ear canals.

So I'm using my Huawei FreeBuds 3, I bought last year, with the Note20, these I do like. As well as Sony and Bose headphones.
