Upgrading from Android 6

Hi. My Moto E 2nd Gen LTE (SKU: XT1524) is kept mainly for online banking (most banks send a code to a phone before you can do anything on their website). Today, a message from my bank tells me they'll soon stop supporting Android 6 and that I would need Android 7 or better.

The Moto E is an old phone and probably pretty basic. Could it handle Android 10 or would I be better sticking with Android 7?

My next question would then be: can anyone suggest a proven ROM for this phone (be it Android 7 or whatever it can handle)?

Many thanks for any advice offered.

I've found this, which is labeled "Official". That USUALLY means everything is working 100% and good to go for a Daily Driver. I found it here:
