All,

I have an LG K20+ running Android 7.0 and a friend keeps sending me links via text and I need to capture these into a .txt (text file not text app), so I can email them to myself and then play them on my Win Latop.

What is the procedure to save these texted links into a text file?

All help appreciated!

Cheers!

Long press on the texts that he sends you, choose copy, then open an email and paste it into it. Send to yourself or save as a draft. Open in your computer and there you go, just click on the link
Dannydet,

I see you think I'm a noob, but I mean copying/saving the entire text box from this individual as I will never ever copy anything one by one!

Cheers!

Most messaging apps allow you to long press the text bubble, which will produce a checkmark next to the bubble which allows yo to save all contents to clipboard, then you can past it to a text editor. Not sure why Dannydets advice won't work, I don't understand the "one by one" statement. Additionally, if you wanna get really geeky, make a Tasker profile that will automatically email any incoming texts from a specific user to your email account.

Trying to copy the entire set of conversations with that person, not an individual text. Individual text copying is one-by-one, the entire text inbox is the only thing that will work for me. I'm not a noob or dummy, so know all about one-by-one; but with well over 300, I'd be copying all day and not doing that. This process should be the same on all phones with Android 7.0!

I'll look on Google play to see what tools exist! I'm already "ROOTED" on my phone so can see the entire "texting" folder, just need to know how to extract the exact persons conversations from that!

So send the whole thing to your computer and write a perl script to extract what you want. Probably do that with awk.
