my new project-Aquarium keeping part 2

Im rooting for your Dodgers tomorrow, on to victory.
thanx man!

we need all of the support. even though we were favored, Atlanta is proving they are where they are supposed to be....in the NLCS. they have really good bats almost, but not quite as good as ours.

game starts at 5pm which is weird for baseball being played on a Sunday. i guess i better get my shit done early tomorrow.....lol

ok i'm done for the night.....i thought i was going to get to smashing some rocks, but i'm done......LOL

but i did make some progress

check out my new tank:
new_tank.jpg

just kidding. this is my model of my tank so that when i design the rock i can see what scale i'm building and i will get to see how the rock formation will look in my future tank. the wine is for a sense of scale.....LOL

i had no idea just how deep this tank will be. tomorrow should be fun

Looks like coral, not rock @ocnbrze Hard to believe it weighs 60 pounds.
its not light, but the smaller you break it down the lighter it is, obviously. but they are definitely not light. it turns out that i ordered too much. i will never use all of it. the shapes i made are almost done. i just need to glue in some sand to hide the areas where i used the mortar to make it look more natural. once the glue has dried i'll posts some photos.

on monday i'll drop by the manufacturer to drop off my overflow box, so that they can use that to drill the holes in the glass. after that i should have the tank in about 3-4 weeks.

i also have some updates for my 3rd project. but i'll post that in its own thread later on.

I never filled up my 10 gallon top to the top either.
huh?
i always fill my tanks to the top. actually both the 8 gallon and 25 gallon are rimless....so i can't fill them comnpletely to the top.

this tank i'm building is a 80 gallon or so and will be rimless as well. i might have them put a "euro brace" on it. a "euro brace" is a a glass ledge that they put on the top to help re-enforce the glass. it basically adds a glass lip at the top. it will also act as a ledge for me to put my tools as i'm cleaning the tank.
