Have a good question for all my fellow soon to be EVO owners.

I have a PRE right now, that I am planning on moving to my second line when I get my EVO.

Question is, can both phones be active on one Google Account??

My PRE will go to my second line that I use for work, but I still want it to be able to have the same Contacts/Email just with the different #.

Anyone know if this is possible, and that it wont screw up anything regarding Google with the EVO??

If it comes down to me having to create a dummy gmail account for the PRE, then I might just trade the PRE in all though I will miss playing around on WebOs.

You can sync two seperate phones with google accounts. I have done this on a bb and g1 at the same time. Both will get the emails and both will sync contacts/calendars etc.

The answer should be yes. I'll be able to confirm it for you in about 6 hours, when my Google IO Evo arrives. I'll be syncing that to the same Google Account that my Pre is currently sync'd to, and will probably keep the Pre "live" for at least a week before swapping ESN's.

Thanks, that was pretty much what Im looking for.

Although, isnt the Palm Profile for the first login on the PRE tied into the phone line?

I remember that being a problem before when I first got the Pre, and was switching it between lines....had to do a manually ESN switch w/ tech support, due to the Palm Profile.

Think of it like multiple computers with Outlook installed and always being able to sign into the same work email account. All it is doing is pulling info down from Google's servers and pushing it back out when you send mail or update a contact or calendar.

Palm Profile was something they gave people so they had somewhere to sync contacts and info if they didn't have Google or Exchange. If you have Gmail or Exchange there isn't much use for Palm Profile. I think the only time I accessed it was at first setup.
