Unread threads are not bold

I'm personally not having trouble distinguishing threads with unread posts (bold black) from those without (bold mid-light grey),
I am. They don't look any different to me, and these tired old eyes need a little help!

Isn't the missing blue dot the indicator for a read thread?

Hah, I hadn't actually noticed the blue dots!

For me the difference in font is more visible on my laptop than my phone.

Though looking at both on the same screen it's also clear that the difference is partly in the displays: the contrast in the 2 captures is different, but when looked at on the same screen they appear more similar than when looking at them on different devices (laptop contrast better).

I hadn't even noticed it! But I think you're right. I just entered a dotted thread, then left it, and its dot was gone.

But let's get back to my tired old eyes--is a barely-noticeable dot better than the lovely bold blue text of days gone by? Or even the eye-popping BOLD BLACK TEXT that took its place? Not to me!

You and me both!

I've only looked on my phone; in this screenshot, I've removed the dots so they wouldn't give anything away:

It's very hard for me to distinguish any difference; here's the same shot with dots:

Is it just me? Lately, all the threads are in the same font, i.e., threads with new posts are not in bold any more.

I know I bitched about the eye-popping BOLD BLACK TEXT for unread threads, but this isn't what I had in mind! :)

Did a little switching things around and remember everyone complained HARD about the black bold text so I removed it. Should it be something else?

The consensus seems to be it is much harder to notice which are unread. I was a fan of the black bold, seemed simple and clear, to me...

Also everything has been squeezed together site-wide.

Thank you. It was very harsh, at least to me.

IMHO, beautiful, bold, blue, like it used to be. It was easy on the eyes and easy to spot unread threads.

As my screenshots show, on my phone it's very hard to distinguish the shades currently in use.

The dot...? Yeah, no. It's too inconspicuous, plus it uses extra real estate. Changing the text color solves both problems.

Thanks for popping in, @Rob. It's good to know you're listening.

Actually, how about this lovely shade of blue? Perhaps tone it down a little, make it a bit darker, but I think any blue would be easy on the eyes and also noticeable.

OT
I find it hard to distinguish on Chrome now. Also I always pressed Forums to get a full time line (I may have set it that way). Now I guess Home does the same.

I've lost the all new threads / timeline thing completely. I have 3 phones temporarily.
On my cheap Moto E6 I lost it straight away.
Now it's gone on the other two on Android 10.
I have the (new) New box checked, and tried the Home in the side bar.

There used to be a Forum tab which did it for me.

Case in point the Fatality 2020 thread where I got an email notification but cannot find it. (I'd already heard about Sean Connery). I can't even bring up the thread.

Favourites / My Threads seem to be missing some regular ones I follow also.

Bit of a mess, tbh.

Is it just me or did the gray get lighter?
I'm DPB @ I approve this message.

I'm on a brand-new laptop, and the two(?) text colors are completely indistinguishable. If not for the itsy-bitsy dot--now that I know what it's for--I'd have NO IDEA which threads have new posts...

*sigh*

*wishes for beautiful blue again*
