so i like that feature we used to have. this allows any older threads to be seen by everyone, rather then go to each individual forum. is there a reason for this? is it because you want folks to go to the individual forums like it was way back when? now older threads are not as visible and receiving help is not as likely.

    just my two cents.

@ocnbrze is correct, since the changes last week older threads with new replies don't show up on the main page.

Clicking Home, Hot, or New will only show newly created threads.

If a thread created 30 days ago gets a reply it wont show up. The only way (that I've found) to see that older thread is to visit the subforum it's in, or to be following that thread/subforum and clicking Favorites. Although Favorites is in reverse chronological order...

yep this is what i'm talking about. kind of sucks that it will not show up, unless i go to that subforum. i really liked the "all" feature. it allows older threads to pop up and get seen.

What I've been saying in the other bold font thread. It's broken.

    * Added:
I've looked at my pc browser (Edge) for the 1st time in 5 days. It seems OK there, but Chrome Mobile not so good.
seems ok? i just looked in edge and its the same thing......there is no "all" option

I'm finding that the "New" option is the list of threads with the most recent activity.
most "recent" as in new activity. but if i post say for instance my aquarium project thread, it will not show up in that tab. nor will it show up under the "hot" tab. if you want members to ask for help in an old thread as they search for answers, the "all" option is a much better way to get seen and will most likely get help.

edit:another example is this very thread. it does not come up on :"hot" or "new:"

I'm finding that the "New" option is the list of threads with the most recent activity.
The issue is that "New" is no longer showing most threads on the site with recent replies. It only displays new threads and sorts them by the date they were created, when someone replies to a thread that thread doesn't move to the top like it used to.

This makes it difficult to see most of the currently active threads because any thread created over 1 day ago will not show up in "New."

Here are two screenshots showing what @ocnbrze, @Madasa (link), and I are talking about.

    1.jpg

First pic is sorted by "New" and it only shows 6 new posts/threads in the last 11 hours, but many more threads have gotten replies in the last 11 hours. Also note the time of the most recent post of the top three threads is not in order:
    2 hours
    1 hour
3 hours... last weeks changes broke the sorting order for new posts.

    2.jpg

Second pic is the Android Lounge with 4 new posts in the last hour, which all should be at the top of "New" but they aren't. Only the "Callers can't hear me in car" thread shows up in "New" because it was created 2 hours ago. The other 3 were created over a day ago so they don't show up on "New" even though they have new posts.

    Hope that made sense :)

Does anyone currently see older threads on "New" or can you confirm you only see new threads from the last day?

yep no older threads are popping up. for instances like i mentioned in my previous post, this thread that i created was in the "new" tab, but now it is not. it is not visible unless you go to the suggestion & feedback forum. this means that no one is really seeing this thread as much as it would have been had we still had the "all" feature.

That was the Forums tab / button of course which has been put out to pasture. When the new layout first appeared my secondary Moto E6 Plus on Pie started misbehaving first.
Edge on Windows did list threads chronologically after I posted here a day ago.

    Great spots by @kate
I hadn't read fully here the first time

so i just want to know, was this change intentional?
I believe that's up to @Rob, us mods can't make those changes.

After some digging I was able to find a search link that sorts all threads by new replies that you can use while the current "New" option doesn't work:
    https://androidforums.com/find-new/posts
^^^ If you bookmark this link, bookmark it exactly as is.

It only shows unread new threads though, not all new. Hope you like that more :)
