One word, F A K E
Seriously fake, as in Pam Andersons bewbies fake.
If those screen shots were real they would include the system info showing 2.2
As it stands anyone with MS paint can fake the above request, so the only actual proof we should accept is a video of a moto droid booting up and the owner going to system tools ->showing the 2.2 rom THEN showing the reported features.

I don't think its fake take a look at the res of the photo's. Only the Droid and the sony xperia x10 use 854
I still won't believe till a video shows it.
To easy to change resolution size with any imagining software, aka photochop.
IF I were to make the claim this guy has the First photo would be of the 2.2 in system tools along with the baseband etc etc, then WiFi tethering then the other stuff.

I agree, looks fake. How hard would it have been to take a pic of the Droid with 2.2 on it? I can show a picture of Optimus Prime sans background, it doesn't prove he was in my living room...

come on guys

1. who cares really
2. what would be the goal of faking it? I mean, for what? we KNOW it is coming, that is a fact.. there are videos showing it work and legit announcements from both sides.. so what's it really matter?

Let's be real for a second. The man has a track record of being honest, forthcoming, and spot on with his information. To outright claim the it is "fake as pamela anderson's bewbies" has no merit and insulting. I've followed him for some time and he hasn't once been dishonest to his readers so the burden of proof lays in the accuser not the messenger.

These are real. They were released by P3Droid. Check the thread there:

Exclusive Pictures of Froyo on the Motorola Droid

P3Droid makes top notch kernels, is a great ROM developer, and was the first to backport the 2.0 rotary lockscreen to 2.1. I don't see any reason to not trust these screenshots.

Agreed. On a similar note P3Droid just said on IRC that with the new .32 kernel on froyo he is getting linpack scores of 9.878 at 550mhz. With the .29 kernel on 2.1 he is getting 3.795 at 550mhz. Froyo FTW!
