Messages on Web

Is it possible to use Messages on the Web with a Chromebook and a p40 pro?
not that i'm aware of. the only way that i know of is if you have a samsung flagship phone (note series or the s series). they can use samsung dex. you connect your phone to the pc, and you can use the pc like it is your phone so you can text on the pc if you want to. but that is the only way that i know of.

The reason is "messages on the web" is running through "messages" on your cell phone.

After a week with the p40 pro I've got most problems worked out. Transferring photos from "Gallery" is still a nuisance and there is no way to use my chromebook to type responses to messages I receive on my phone. I'm running four apps off the web: Google Keep, Calendar, Contacts, and News. Lastly a couple of apps I paid for through Google Pay aren't recognized as paid by Huawei.

I presume it's really because you don't have Google Play Store on the P40?

FYI Here's a Phandroid article about how to install the Google Play Store on the Huawei P40.

I live in Oaxaca, Mexico, and asked around for an Android Wizard. I went to see Alejandro for help doing Googlefier or one of the other methods. I'm 79 and even when I was eighteen I didn't know bupkis about smartphone. Alejandro said he couldn't do it so I am living with my p40 pro without Google Mobile Services. I can manage and now that we have a Chinese agent as president-elect in the U.S. perhaps Huawei will get access to Google again.
