Hello, I have all my music files uploaded to Moto e that I received as a gift from grandson. When I plug the phone into my laptop with USB it shows the music files are in the phone, however when I click on the icon to play music it is only showing about a dozen songs. What do I have to do to get all my music that is in my moto e into my library so it will play ? Not computer or phone savy, thank you for any help.

"YT Music" is presumably "YouTube Music". Not something I've ever used (I don't use Google's media apps), but I'd not be at all surprised if it is mainly concerned with strreaming and only plays songs that are stored in a particular location on the phone.

You could check in the app's settings to see whether there is an option to make it scan the device for music files. But another solution would be to download a different music player, if the phone doesn't already have one. Most will automatically scan for music files and list everything on the device, you are just unlucky that the first one you tried doesn't seem to.

As for app recommendations, different people have different tastes. I mainly use PowerAmp, which has a couple of weeks trial but is not a free app (I don't have a problem with paying for software, while some people seem to think that others should write apps for them for nothing). But there are plenty of different ones in the Play Store, so just see what works for you.

PowerAMP's free app is just a trial version: it has all features, but only works for a few weeks after installation.

Different music apps can have different features. Some offer nothing more than an interface, and use the system's default codec (the code that translates the music file) and so sound exactly the same as each other. Others include additional features for adjusting the sound. Others include their own codecs, filters, whatever. Some may do things like looking up lyrics. Some may offer different ways of organising your music. Whether any of this matters depends on the individual.

If you are happy with the one you have then you don't need to worry about any of that. ;),

The one I mentioned Music Player worked for a while, then didn't so I un-installed it and after much frustration I ended up going back to You Tube . So the music is there now and I can access it even if it isn't in alphabetically order. Android surely isn't easy, but I am adamant to make it work . Thank you.

I thought I had the music all fixed as I ended up with YT Music and all transferred ok from my desktop. However, when I went to go for a walk today the music would not play No Internet Service error message. It also would not play when I was in my car. My home environment has wireless Wi Fi and the music will play in my home, but not in my car or when I leave the home. My blue tooth in my care is on and linked to the Android ????????????
Thank you for your help.

I had a look at the YT Music app, but it required that I add payment details, so didn't get very far with it.

FWIW I've been using Foobar2000 as my go to Android music player for a few years now. completely free, NO ads, and doesn't need to be online.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobar2000.foobar2000

I will look at that, thank you. I am new to Android, apps, etc. I was happy to be able to get my music into YT music but you are correct, ads galore . I am again, NOT tech android savy and don't know how once I try Foodbar to get my music there. I will work on it thank you

Ok I have downoad the app you suggested and will get used to it. It worked fine during my 2 mile walk this morning ,but still will not play in my car when I select the bluetooth menu. It shows that it is listed in bluetooth, but it just won't play on my car when I chose bluetooth. I will work on that today. Thank you
