Covid Vaccination.....did you get yours yet?(boosters included)

Are you checking MyTurn regularly? That's what we did.

Something I wanted to mention about our shots at Cal Poly: there were entire families there. Like parents in their 40s with their children, a lot of families, and we were all wondering what was up with that. These weren't infants who had to be breast-fed, they were older kids like 10 or 12. We wondered why they came. Were they getting shots? Or they came along because it was so fun? Or what?

And another thing: as we were getting ready to leave the house, the local news was saying that numerous sites, including Dodger Stadium, were shutting down for several days due to a shortage of vaccine. Huh? There was an abundance where we went.

Yesterday, Dr Fauci said the latest research shows that once you're fully vaccinated you cannot transmit the virus. That's really good news, and contradicts the earliest reports.
no because my mom went thru providence because they had openings and we took it. now we have to wait. according to their website, someone there will contact us. i imagine they have not contacted us just yet as my moms date of feb 23rd has not arrived just yet. my guess is that we should be contacted probably early next week.

and i think they shut down to focus on those that need the 2nd dose......at least that is what providence is doing.

One thing to keep in mind, @ocnbrze, is that studies have shown waiting longer than three weeks for the second dose actually increases its efficacy. So while I know we're all anxious to hurry up and be done with it, there is an upside to the delays we're currently experiencing.

We're still two weeks out from our next dose, and I'm not anticipating any issues by then, but if we are delayed, I'm okay with it, all things considered.

I haven't gotten the shot yet and I am not planning on it. I am sorry but I don't believe a cure or vacancie was found so quickly.
For most of 2020 there were more questions than answers. Then out of the blue a possible vaccine o_O
When people started asking questions, like how the food and drug administration fast track the vacancies without the required testing and people started asking questions
There was a short lived excuse that some biologist had been working on vacancies or flu studies for a decade and the biologist research had proven to be a hail marry.
Then as everyone is high 5ing each other, what happens??? New strains pop up:( follow by oh the current vacancies may not be effective on these new strains.
Then what was it about two weeks there was a flash in the pan article about people growing their own corona virus strains?? Do I believe it
Absolutely 100% why because people are generally a bunch of ******** idiots:maddroid::thumbsdowndroid:
I am just waiting for the delay side effects to kick in:cashdroid::cashdroid::cashdroid::cashdroid:

well scientist have known about the coronavirus for a very long time. it belongs to a very big group of viruses known to infect mammals. the scientific name for the virus is not covid-19. it is actually called SARS CoV 2. so SARS stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. SARS CoV1 is the original virus that caused the SARS outbreak we had in early the 2000's.

so you see, we already had a great deal of knowledge about the virus to some degree. i think what is fascinating is that we had the entire genome of the virus already mapped about 2 weeks from the first time we knew of covid-19.

one good thing that the trump admin did was put together an operation called Warp Speed to fund and accelerate studies on the virus as well as develop a vaccine for it. with the US and other countries around the World we were able to develop multiple forms of a vaccine to eradicate the virus in a record time....it is truly amazing feat of scientific technology.

the only thing that scientist did not like was the name of the operation. Warp Speed made it sound that we are being hasty to put forth a vaccine out without the proper protocols. vaccines usually takes many years to perfect and thus sow in distrust about it......like you are exhibiting.

for me i will always trust the science and everything is pointing to the fact that these vaccines are very effective and safe. this was not a hail mary effort.

so please when it is your turn to get the vaccine, go and get it. the more we get vaccinated, the sooner we can return to some sort of normalcy again. this thing will not just go away. it will take effort. it will take sacrifice. it will take trust.

......trust the science.

so here in SoCal, the next group are the essential workers and those that have underlying conditions. in the past they listed asthma as one of them......but according to the cdc guidelines, they left it off of the list for elligibility.......i have asthma so looks like i will have to wait a bit longer.

at least my mom is covered.
