Help Apps closing for no reason

So today some apps started closing for no reason. I'll open an app and it will close right away. Some background apps will continue to close as well. Every now and then, an error message for Play Store will pop up saying it closed. The app itself opens fine. Other apps run just fine. I checked for any recent Android updates and didn't see any. Any suggestions?

Android 9
LG V40ThinQ
Apps closing: Outlook, some games, news app, others

Yep, and unfortunately, last night I thought it was my phone data becoming corrupted, so of course I did clear data of a few apps, and they started working again, but that was short lived, 20 min started happening again, that when I quickly realized it was probably an Android bug issue.

Thank God I didn't completely reset my phone, I was close to doing so, only a few apps id what I reset, and then decided to wait till this morning, and low and behold it was an Android Webview issue. Updated Webview and all back to normal.

Looks like there is a problem with Android system webview going around.

That's probably why it's working for you, you never had the issue, yours has been disable in the past. The recent update fixes the issue of the previous update.

Got up this morning and everything is working. I did a search for WebView in the Play Store, and it says it's disabled.

Same here, but then late last night, was when I started having issues, glad they resolved it before I FR my phone, LOL

Hmm, completely missed all of this excitement. Had a webview update yesterday, but didn't have a problem before that (don't use Chrome and keep it disabled, so that aspect wouldn't affect me).

This is becasue your RAM can be full
No, this is a specific bug in Google's systems, affecting their webview and Chrome, and any app that uses webview.

And to be clear, in 11 years of using Android I've never met problems due to RAM being full. The system is quite capable of purging apps when more RAM is needed, and is designed to run with high RAM usage (task killing apps, often marketed as "RAM cleaners" or "system boosters", do more harm than good and should always be avoided).

I tried to run the updates for Webview and Chrome from the Play Store, but it simply says 'Pending' for a few minutes, then goes back to 'Update', without the update being executed. I finally just deleted all Webview updates from the phone, and it solved the crashing problem (at least temporarily), but any idea why the update function did not work?
