Help Notification Light for new Texts

Just got the GS 21 and want similar functionality to my GS 8 that had an LED light that would blink whenever I received a text message

How can I get similar functionality on my GS 21?

Thanks in advance!
no led blinking, but you can have edge panel lighting for your notifications. its pretty cool and there are different patterns you can choose.

just go to settings>notifications>brief pop-ups setting>and select your edge lighting effect, color, and other advanced configurations. now this is for the note 10+ and i believe the new s21 should have the same feature. it might be located slightly different then my note 10+.

Thanks for the input

Is there a way to get Edge Lighting or a Flash Notification to continue to blink until you unlock the phone to check the notification?

The one-time flash is fine, but I want to look at my phone from a distance and see if i have a notification without touching my phone

any suggestions appreciated

yeah get a smart watch. i use it all the time mainly for the notifications and to see who is texting or calling me.

edit: i do not see how to make it continuous, unfortunately.

This was a biggie with me as I'm deaf and depend on that. I'm considering returning my phone and going back to the S9+ I had...

I just installed aodNotify and it seems to be great - enables a blinking light around the camera for notification by app and have color flexibiltiy too. Seems like a good work around to get the s8 functionality I used to have
Does it continue to blink until you look at the text? I liked that small blue blinking light that continued to blink until I opened text messaging. The way I have it set up now without the aodNotify program is it flashes a few seconds and stops and doesn't do it again even though I haven't open the message yet?

Well since no one seem to know the answer to my question above, I searched and found it here:

You need a notification light / LED for your Galaxy S21? With aodNotify you can easily add a notification light / LED directly to Samsung's Always On Display!

You can select different notification light styles and show the notification light around the camera cutout, screen edges or even simulate an notification LED dot in the statusbar of your Galaxy S21! As the notification light is integrated in Samsung's Always On Display it has minimal battery consumption and doesn't drain your battery like other apps which keep your phone awake!

If you don't need the Always On Display, the app can also activate the Always On Display (AOD) only on notifications or show the notification light / LED even without the Always On Display!

However at the end of the article it said this:
NOTES:
• Samsung may block this app with future updates!
• Please check if the app is compatible before updating phone software or always on display!
• Although we never experienced any screen burn in issues on our test devices, we recommend to not keep the notification light / LED active for a long time! Use at you own responsibility!
