are we talking bootloader unlock? or carrier unlock?

nope i just wanted to make clear what you are offering people here on AF. people might get confused what kind of unlocking you are talking about. i have a note 10+ 5G with a snapdragon processor which makes my bootloader unlockable.

unlocking some bootloaders can kill a cellphone and result it wont turn on or unable to boot...

ummmm no if a bootloader can't be unlocked you can't root it. never heard of trying to unlock a bootloader and killing your phone. if you can't oem unlock, then you are done....no root, but phone will still work.

Hm... last time I rooted a phone was years ago... But I'm pretty sure it's (maybe used to be) possible to root w/o unlocking the bootloader.
IIRC this was done by booting recovery.img with fastboot and then flash your rooting app from there.
Not 100% sure on the process, but AFAIK rooting and bootloader unlocking are two separate things, that don't (always) depend on one another.
