What phones other Moto's let you activate the flashlight using a motion?

I can't find anywhere online where someone has already asked this.

I need a new phone and a wider selection would be best but I need to be able to turn on the flashlight very quickly.

Too quickly to use both hands or look at the screen. I barely have enough time to get it out of my pocket and shake it.

I'm not doing anything illegal or immoral lol it's just a safety thing but it's an essential safety thing.

i have never heard of such a phone. i doubt you will find such phone to be honest. my note 10+ on my lockscreen i just pull down the notification bar and select the flashlight. its pretty quick for me. i do not even have to unlock the phone. anything quicker than that.? i have no clue what other phone that would be quicker.

Oh yeah the moto app, you can simply turn it off and drop down with it, as well as like you can really pull it down,
with your menu selection too Just swipe down from your home screen and edit it to have the flashlight like that.

On a Moto all you have to do is have it in one hand and twist it twice quickly. The way the manufacturer describes it is a "chopping" motion, like if the phone were a hand doing a karate chop or an axe cutting something but really it's even simpler that that.

It needs so little momentum that if you imagine the phone being the flat side of a wheel you would just need to spin the wheel like it's on a vehicle forward and back twice.

It takes like two blinks of an eye and I've taken tests, there's nothing special about how fast I can move or think. I love it!

It needs so little momentum that if you imagine the phone being the flat side of a wheel you would just need to spin the wheel like it's on a vehicle forward and back twice.

It takes like two blinks of an eye and I've taken tests, there's nothing special about how fast I can move or think. I love it!

That sounds like a feature proprietary to that Motorola device, which I've never heard of before.

If you live in such a ghetto area that you need to have an instant flashlight,
I suggest that you buy and carry an appropriate LED flashlight that has instant on. Amazon and Alibaba sells many of them.

If you're in the US, maybe carry a loaded pistol and pepper spray as well.

FWIW i sometimes used to work in bad areas in London, and I always kept a small Maglite torch in my pocket, just in case. Of course this was before phones had LED lights in them.

The point of it is it's a ONE-HANDED that you can do with no eyes on the phone. That's what I want for a flashlight activation. Not as important for turning it off. Those who haven't had the feature don't appreciate how much better it is than what's there on most other phones. I've seen apps that supposedly do that. I have a new Pixel 4a and that's the feature I miss most from my older Moto phones. I also miss the twist wrist to activate the camera but not as much as shake to toggle the torch. Came here to find out if there was a good and secure app from a reputable dev or company that works on other android phones.

I know this is old, but it sounded fun.. So I have an app from simple tools (good stuff that guy puts out} called "flashlight". In settings, I tell it to turn on the flashlight upon launch, and then configured a new profile in Tasker to launch the flashlight on a left - right shake, along with waking up the screen for good measure. Works like a champ.
