My friend has been "accepted" for their wifi. The thing is he apparently has to download some crap app to get it and he supposedly doesn't have enough room on his phone. I tried apking it but it said "app not installed". I also read the reviews and most of them said it's useless. Is there some other way to set up the router?

That can often mean the app you're trying to sideload is incompatible with your particular phone. If you're trying to install it from somewhere like APKmirror or APKpure, some apps might be offered in different builds, like 32bit, 64bit, ARM7, ARM9, x86, etc. Where you have to choose a suitable APK to match your device's CPU architecture, otherwise you'll get "App not installed". If you're installing via Google Play, this is taken care of automatically.

Of course i can't help you with setting up an Xfinity router.

That might be the password. If I look around the cave, I see no computer, only spears and a bearskin rug in this dim firelight. If we have to download an app please let it be as small as possible especially if it can't be SDed. Googoo says it's compatible but not enough room, which is probably bs. As I've typed before, it doesn't take an airplane hangar to park a subcompact. Meanwhile, if I try with APKPure, it seems to download ok but then claims "app not installed".

I just "cheated" and moved that lousy Xfinity app to SD. I don't know if it's because I snuck it in with a bunch of other downloads or because it's in the download list at all or what. Those other apps I was trying to move were at least mostly downloads, too, such as Nook. What's the deal?

You dont want apps on an SD.
They will take a performance hit, drastically shorten the life of the card, and even lose some functionality.

If there is not enough room on the device, that is user error.

Screwgle will say that there is not enough even when there appears to be plenty, but that is because an app grows a lot after install and later updates.

They are also taking into accout the other apps on the device doing the same.

Good advice is to leave the same or more open memory as the device has RAM.

For instance, my Moto e6 has 2 GB RAM, so I leave at least 2 GB of unused memory.

Don't overload your "Friend's" phone and/or MSD with a bunch of extra apps that he may not need, or want.

Who wants their crummy app? I'm trying to figure a way around it, especially because of all the bad reviews it's gotten. I don't want to destroy the sd card, particularly over their crap. I just wish there were a better option than the dreaded Xfinity.
there is.....get a new router....like a netgear router. it will be cheaper in the long run.
