Keep in mind that any app can and typically does have its own set of icons -- the app itself or scaled down notification icons that often match or are similar to their app. An app developer will choose whatever artwork they want to create their icons, or take otherwise generic ones and alter them accordingly, or they may rely upon someone else who has a more creative and artistic eye.
So this 'female icon' you're referencing could be for some kind of female-focused health app, or a woman's support group of some kind, or whatever. It is such an iconic symbol with a lot of history behind it so it's likely there are countless apps out there using it in some modified way.
There's no way to give a definitive answer to your question, especially since we cannot view it. But even if you did post a screen capture of it, unless it's a really popular, common app or by chance someone else has the same app on their mobile device, the odds if identifying it are slim. The best place to determine what icons are showing up in a Notification bar is using the device itself.

DID. was told it was internet. dont think iv ever seen it...and its the famle SEX SYMBOL...kinda fishy id say
Don't get too hung up on the word "sex": that symbol indicates biological sex as opposed to the sexual act, though it is also used to indicate female gender rather than sex (i.e. the social rather than biological classification).

"Internet" is too vague a term to be useful here: almost everything on the phone connects to the internet, and if that is a notification icon it relates to the app producing it rather than say what website was being viewed. It's possible that seeing it in context would help (you could crop out most of the screenshot), or seeing the exact symbol (things like orientation or stylistic touches can help with identification), but with the number of apps out there it's always a long shot hoping that anyone will be able to identify a particular icon unambiguously (and angling that symbol a bit seems to be a common practice in apps that use it, probably because it fits better into the square space provided for an app icon that way, so orientation may not tell us much anyway).

Yes I agree. Unfortunately I just seen it when it was in ny hand and I rolled the screen for notifications down my there was nothing. But it kept showing as if they were turned off for this app. And ... it sits straight with a bit of a an arrow on bottom but with the line thru it. (As if female) was the indication. But had arrow like male so was a bit odd. And ill add that he just seemed a bit off when it asked. And we have been members of another site TOGETHER so im wondering did he possibly make his own profile somewhere...unknowingly to me and that was a notifications of a match. ... sooo. I just have this feeling to b honest dear. But thays so much for your reply and taking time to write it.

That is why we are here for, giving up the small amounts of time we have to reply to you. I slightly edited on the quote too. :)

Hi. Can I ask what the site was you made together? Does that site have a female icon appear on the notification bar? I'm in the same situation and really need to know. Thanks

There could also be some kind of 'cycle tracking' app that is installed, but that'd make more sense on a female's phone not a boyfriend's. Samsung Health offers such a feature if you're set to 'Female' or just did it to prove some type of 'I identify with being female' oddity.

I identify as a deer buck, but I don't go out of my way to promote it or go after 'deer's rights'.
