Fingerprint sensor on Galaxy A50

Hello dear friends!

I came here for your help. Recently, I get my hands on Samsung Galaxy A50 (SM-A505FN/DS) with Android 11 and One UI 3.1. I get the phone with broken screen, so I replaced it with OEM part. Everything works just fine. I place everything from old case to new (with new screen). And everything is okay. But problem is, when I try to add fingerprint, phone leads me trough setting up screen, but when I place my finger on the sensor, I get message "Be sure your finger covers whole sensor". And it won't even get anywehre. It just immidiately drops to zero and repeats the message...I tried factory reset, soft reset, update and *#0*# and checked the sensor with everything passed...Is there any solution available?

Thank you kindly for any help! Stay Safe

Is it under the display? Was it part of the replacement display? Does a sensor test say if it is working?

Yes, it is under display. No the sensor was part of the original phone. I moved it with motherboard, etc. to new display. Sensor test is showing everything as PASS...
Sensor info is showing Product ID as ET713 also with UID, EFS UID, Module Test: 0 and Calibration 0

Looked in the Sensor Tab, but no sign for fingreprint details...
Yeah, that was an old app. A friend recommended this more updated app to me. It detects my FP scanner.

I'm thinking if it wasn't attached to the screen, there should be no reason it wouldn't work unless it is obstructed somehow, like not mounted in the exact same location, obscured by a label, wire, or something else.

Still no luck unfortunately...all sensors ale listed, except fingerprint...maybe I'm blind, but it isn't there...It was attached to the same location with two screws...right under LCD (where is rounded hole for sensor). I didn't touched the sensor or LCD...just extracted it and then imidiately placed to the new LCD, connected and tightened with screws....

We may be getting somewhere. On my Galaxy S20 it shows up under Fingerprint sensor as QCOM. Yours shows nothing? If that is the case it would imply the system isn't seeing it. That could be a loose connection or damaged wire, or possibly whatever damaged the screen damaged the sensor.

Ah, I probably missed it....Now when I looke at the place, like you show me, it's showing me Fingerprint sensor: EGISTEC. So I'm assuming it recoginzing my fingerprint sensor...As I stated on the first post, it lets me create fingerprint, but when I place my thumb (no matter how), it says, that I need to cover the whole sensor (which Im doing)....So when I put my finger there, it shows loading but immidetaily it goes backwards (0% - not even 1%) and the message...

Ah, I misread and thought you were having problems registering your fingerprint. :(
