After many many years buying Huawei I've decided to Downgrade to the Mate 20 Pro and it's got to be the worst phone I've ever had from Huawei. Just one of the problems is is every time I open an application to attach a picture, some pictures or all of the pictures are just blank spaces. I've never ever had this with the phone before do you know what the reason is is there anything I can do about it. Blank photos?

No. The photos are there, they appear fine in the photo app, they may or may not appear when trying to insert them using an app

Check what format your photos are in. Because on some devices, the default is now HEIC for camera images and not JPG. On my Samsung Note20 Ultra, the default is HEIC. It could that your whatever it is app is not recognising HEIC images, but the stock Huawei photo app does, and may be why you're seeing blanks. If it is HEIC, you can probably change it back to JPG in the camera settings.

I believe HEIC(High Effeciency Image Compression) was originally introduced with the iPhone, but is now available on Android as well. As it's a more efficient compression than JPG. However some apps may not recognise HEIC as valid image files, and so need to be updated.

FWIW I decided against Huawei this year, and switched to Samsung, specifically from a Mate10 to a Galaxy Note20 Ultra. And it was mainly because Huawei no longer uses standard micro-SD for removable storage in their phones, like the Mate20, Mate30 etc.

I still keep the Mate10 around though, without a SIM. because it's still useful with the IR Blaster. And it has just been upgraded to Huawei's HarmonyOS. Which is another subject completely.

Nope. It's nothing like that. The photos appear sometimes but more often they don't add it's very frustrating
