Hi,
I haven't been here in awhile, but hope I can post this here
I am trying to choose a budget tablet, (yes Chinese made, because being on a fixed income, I can't afford any other) and I have been trying to narrow it down to one, I have it down to 4, and I'm trying to find out which is the best for the money, and well....the best out of the four, as in fastest etc. I am not worried about the camera option, or gaming, as I use my phone for the camera and don't play any games, but maybe the occasional crossword puzzle or solitaire. There are a few things I need, such as definitely Octa core, 10 or above screen, 128 GB storage, Bluetooth and WiFi capability, (GPS would be nice, but not absolutely necessary)That being said, I will add the four brands, price and versions (all from Amazon). Any advice will be greatly appreciated!(Any others alike, I would love to hear about and get advice on!)

$249.00 Samsung Electronics Galaxy Tab A8 Android Tablet, 10.5” LCD Screen, 128GB Storage.

$229.00 Blackview Gaming Tablet, Android 11 Tablet with Octa Core 8GB + 128GB

$209.00 TECLAST T40 Plus Android 11 Tablet 10.4 inch 8GB+128GB

$249.00 TECLAST T40 Pro Android 11 Tablet 10.4 Inch, 8GB RAM 128GB ROM

By name alone, I'd go with the Samsung.
Thank you!!
That's what I am thinking too. This one in particular, guarantees at least two years of updates, and I haven't read the others doing that. I read a lot of reviews about the Teclast, and it's "supposed" to be an "upcoming" Chinese brand, but I'm not really sold on them ya know?

Well I have been extremely thankful for my tablet, it is one of the most veritible purchase I have made, it is my portable desktop, I can take it anywere, battery lasts a spelended amount of time, also you can customize it to however you want to change options too, and leave the apps into whatever you do feel like, turning off mobile data, the basics..

It is a pretty powerful machine that you can leave on your desk forever and do not worry too much about plugging it in.

You might want to look into getting a Fire HD 10 tablet. It meets your list of requirements except for not having 128GB of internal storage. (Although it does allow you to add a microSD card to up the total to 1TB). And it should receive four years of security updates.
The price advantage is of course a plus point, but there is drawback. Fire tablets all run Amazon's FireOS, the issue being FireOS is just the user interface that runs on top of a basic Android install so it's also heavily branded to use Amazon's services. But when you go into the Settings menu of a Fire tablet, the menus and such are just another Android. To an only slightly lessor extent, Samsung also heavily brands all its own devices too so there is that aspect.

Thank you! I think I will end up going with the Samsung. The Fire, yeah it's got a lot, but I don't like the idea of not being able to use Firefox etc.
You can download firefox on it, any version, firefox is awesome to edit on the windows too, but it takes some time to look it up though :)

Oh Thank you for all the info. I like the Fire, BUT, even though I am a Prime member lol, I just don't like the idea of not being able to use Firefox or the Google App store. I have seen some places where you can "make" it like an Android, by "side-loading" Google Play store, but I have never done that, and afraid it wouldn't work, unless you good folks could help me lol. I have an older smaller "Fire 5th Generation" older Tablet, that I gave to my son, but haven't tried the "side-load" idea yet.

i have both a tab A and a tab s6 from samsung. i would also go with them as well. i would not expect anything from the off brand devices.

an kindle fire tablet is also a great choice as @svim suggested. my mom has one and she loves it.
Thank you!! I am trying to see if I can side-load the APK files for Google play store, to make this into an Android lol..if it works on this old 5th Generation, I might get a Fire..I am a total Android person and really want all my apps from Google.

I've got the Kindle Fire HD10 (2021) and I've added Google services and the Play store (it's really easy - see here : https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-your-amazon-fire-tablet/
This is the guide I followed.
