My replacement is on it's way to me right now, on the truck for delivery.

I have never had any issue with my phone until about a week ago. After about 3 or 4 days from a power off my phone goes into 100% awake time. After looking into it every time I and Verizon can't find what's keeping it up.

If I could have figured this out and kept my Eris I would have. I know, other than this, that it works great and does not have any of the other issues so many others have. So that is why I am a little scared to get my replacement not knowing how it will run. I will most likley root it now.

I just found out I can get the banking app from the protected section of the market!! So, that's happy stuff for me. I am good with v3 for now, and I learned yesterday how to brick my phone (get it stuck on boot) if I truly wanted a replacement (it's reversible, but I'm figuring a clerk wouldn't know that).

At this point, however, I don't see any real need for that other than getting root. I'm not even sure if I really want root, or if I just want it to screw with my phone (haven't researched the true benefits yet), so I think I will just sit on this until something comes along that I absolutely have to have instead.

returned my leaked V3 because of silent call issue - replacement was sent, had the issue right out of the box - the new replacement has been great so far - FYI, both refurb replacements came with 1.5 and prompted me to do the update as soon as they were activated - happy so far - now reading up on rooting so I can screw it up again

Just got back from Verizon (issue with daughter's Palm).

They weren't too busy, so I had a tech look at my phone's magnetometer issue just to see if it could be fixed. He looked at Sky Map and a compass app and saw that calibration did not work.

After around 10 min, he concluded that the magnetometer was indeed going out and he could replace it.

He said that they did not have any in stock and that they will no longer be sold starting in July.

So, I'm getting one overnighted. Re-furb I presume. At least I'll be able to test it out before returning my current one.

BTW... if the replacement is a keeper, I'm definitely going to root.

Returned mine in store due to silent call issue, the CS Rep said she had to duplicate the problem before sending me out a replacement. After 5 calls no silent call issue she told me I was out of luck so I asked for a manager and had him call the phone until the problem occured again.....93 calls later & my new eris should arrive today.

Ha ha... I bet that's the last time they tell someone to "replicate the silent call bug" in that particular store. ;)

My phone was running slow since I got back from the Vstore.

DUDE INSTALLED ADVANCED TASK KILLER!!!!!!!!!

How lame is that!?!?!

Got rid of it! Phone's back to normal.

Yeah, they installed it on mine and my wife's phones when we first got them too. The salesman was convinced that you can't use an Android phone without a 3rd-party task killer.

I had the silent call bug and got a refurb. I probably would have kept V.3 had it not been for the fact I was keeping this phone as a backup device for my son and me. If I needed to put it into production permanently I didn't want any bugs or any chance I wouldn't get future updates. As it turns out, a couple of days later my daughter declared the Eris her birthday present and I haven't heard a peep out of her except for how much she loves the phone. Glad I did it, although I did feel a little guilty at first. BTW, came with 1.5, on activation OTA immediately, then did a factory reset for good measure. (Thanks for that Frisco)
