Which Phone?

I'm in need of a new phone, and from what I've read and have seen, Android is the way to go. I'm on the Verizon Network, and I have basically narrowed it down between the DROID, the Incredible, and the Eris.

I can get the DROID for around $99.99 now if not cheaper, or is it worth it to spend the extra $100 and get the Incredible? As far as the Eris goes, I know its not exactly top of the line, however it is rather cheaper and still works well from what I hear. But again in the long run do you think it would be worth it to just spend the extra money up front and buy the DROID or Incredible..? Or should I wait for a few months to see if any new phones come out?

Thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it!

First off, welcome aboard!

Second, new phones and better phones come out all the time. Don't let that be the deciding factor for you!

Finally, regardless of others may say, take the time to PLAY with the phones. You may find that you LOVE the Eris and hate the Droid and the Incredible. You may find that you don't really like any of them but that you like the Ally. Find the phone that's BEST for you and get that one. :)

Why would anyone prefer the Eris to the incredible? If you want a keyboard then get a droid, otherwise the incredible is better.

Not everyone is a power user. If all you are using is text/calls there would be no reason to get the incredible. Also, not everyone likes the size/style of the incredible.

This is the GREAT thing about having choices! :)

As gmaellex01 stated if you need a physical keyboard then the droid is the winner, if not then you should be looking into the Incredible (both phones are going to get android 2.2). I would take a trip down to your nearest verizon store and play with both phones and see what fits you better (Droid or Incredible). Just remember the Incredible is running the Sense UI while the Droid is running vanilla android and this might make a difference. As for waiting, I thought I read some where that Motorola will be releasing a new phone in June/July so that's always an option. The problem with technology is that there is always something new around the corner and you can wait forever, so buy it when you need it.

Doesn't matter what you're talking about -- different people have different needs/wants. No one's saying that the OP will prefer the Eris. It's just possible given that we don't have all the data needed to really make a meaningful recommendation based on his specific needs/wants. I've seen several people prefer the Eris mainly due to its size and the Sense UI. The items that some would consider as advantages of the Droid and Incredible just didn't matter to them.

As always, YMMV. Selecting a smartphone is always about finding what suits the person best. It's not a one-size-fits-all world.
