New Every 2 discount question

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I've been reading a few topics but I still can't find an answer my question. If I am eligible for the new every 2 discount then the price I pay on the 6th for the Droid should be $150, correct? Unless I read incorrectly, the NE2 deal is worth 50 dollars or does that deal only get me the 200 dollar asking price? I preordered from Best Buy if that makes any difference.

If you have an upgrade or are a new contract, you get the phone from the store and are charged $299 and receive a $100 mail in rebate. You can use your NE2, which is worth a different amount for different people (I believe). Check your My Verizon account for details on this. If yours is worth $50, you will walk out of the store paying $249 and will receive a $100 mail in rebate, essentially costing you in the end $149! :) Plus tax which may be on the original $559.

The new every two discount applies to only phones bought at a VZW store or online.

If you did buy there, you would get either a $30 or $50 discount off the $199 price based on your plan.

Actually after checking with my own best buy store and noticing some other best buy related threads, Best Buy can honor the New Every Two. The manager i spoke to told me that if they refuse, you should ask them to check your account in their system and it will have a flag saying you are eligible. If they still wont do it, ask for their manager. That's my contingency plan at least.

I know a district manager of best buy (as sad as that is to admit LMAO), and best buy mobile is in no way affiliated with Verizon Wireless, therefor they have no way to pull up that information. It is promotional ONLY to Verizon Wireless and their stores. Heck, even Wireless Zone stores don't honor new every two.

Hmm...well i'm seeing some conflicting responses here. I do know that when I preordered at BB they pulled up some information on my account that I have been asked about at Verizon stores. I asked him if I was eligible for an upgrade and he said yes which makes me assume they have all the information that VZW has. Whether they will honor the NE2 discount is another question.

i preorder my droid last friday at a local best buy and also inquired about the ne2 discount. the bbmobile employee there told me to print out the screen on the vzw my account site that shows the final cost of the phone and they would match that price, so friday morning ill be hitting the vzw site to do just that. i dont know if that is store specific, but it wouldnt hurt doing that when you go to pick up your droid.
