I would like to say thank you to everyone in this subforum. I have found a lot of great and useful info in here. I will be getting the EVO 4G and moving down the block to that forum. However I will be selling my Hero if anyone is interested please pm me. It is Running the "Official" 2.1 from Sprint however it is the one that Damage put out so it still has ROOT access.

The End Call Key paint has started to peel
There is a Tiny Scratch on the bottom.

The past 6 months here have been a blast for me. It is kind of bitter sweet to say farewell to the Hero forum. The best part has been the interaction with fellow Hero owners.

You guys/gals are a great! (Smart too!) Thanks to the devs too.

This tiny title device has changed the way I listen to music, navigate to unknown places and communicate with my friends and family.

Peace to you and yours.

Zombdroid out!

The Hero has been the best phone I have ever owned. I too will be making the switch to the EVO and I hope it's everything I want and more. The best thing I can say is that if for some reason I am not happy with the EVO, I have the Hero to fall back to and I wouldn't be sad either way. I'm going to either get an awesome new phone or stick with something that's already awesome. I don't lose either way.

I think at this point everyone knows the EVO is coming out...Can we keep the "hello to Evo" posts in the EVO forum?

I'll be sitting back on the sidelines watching all you early adopters discover the problems. After they're fixed, I'll jump ship with you. Till then, I'll just sit happily by in my moderately sized boat before jumping onto the sport cruiser with you guys.

For those people switching from Hero to Evo, how are you doing it? The Hero was released just October 2009 and I got mine that month with a 2 year contract, so I still have another year and 5 months to be able to get an upgrade. Are you buying the Evo at retail?
On my case I'm due for an upgrade in October ( Sprint Premier is one year for upgrades) :D That will give me enough time to enjoy the Hero and read on EVO reviews..

Is being with Sprint for one year automatically makes you a Sprint Premier member? I've been told that after one year, I'm only entitled to $75 upgrade discount, and after 2 years I receive the $150 upgrade discount. I'm new to Sprint and generally happy with their service. I don't mind extending my contract longer by getting the Evo as long as I get some kind of discount for the upgrade. In any case, that would mean I also have to wait until October to be able to avail for the upgrade.

Why so negative? I'm sure the adults buying these phones know to expect the unexpected.

Really? There's a lot of adults on this forum who aren't too happy with the Hero. I don't have much confidence in the HTC/Sprint relationship at the moment. As some others have said, I'll wait for the rest of you to be the guinea pigs. I've spent way too much time babysitting the Hero to deal with another problem child. I'll keep an eye on the EVO forums and see what develops.
