pfft.. She wouldn't listen or budge at all either. Biggest thing she said was she gets less bars on it(along with all other HTC's) Tried to tell her about looking at the signal instead of bars, and how I was reading it doesn't show full signal when not in use to save the battery or whatever. But noooo... the moto is still better hands down..

Got frustrated and left cause there were no Inc's in stock anyways, and she kept trying to sell me on the moto, even though I said I don't want it. :D

Have checked all the best buys, and Vzw stores around me. Closest one with them in stock is in Alabama-- 109 miles away. :(
Now I just cant decide if I should wait to see if one of the places get them in stock soon (people are saying some BB's are still getting them in.) or just bite the bullet and order it online.

Sorry, felt like a posting a small rant somewhere.. heh

Oh, and hello all!

That's borderline blasphemous! Nah, jk, but did she say why? Sounds like a personal preference. I personally don't like Motorola phones, i dig HTC's style of phones. I bought the Droid Eris in April and played with it for two weeks. Then the Incredible was announced and had to return it! It was a hard two weeks to go back to my lame non-android carrying env2 but oh boy it was worth it! When i got the Incredible it exceeded my expectations and then some! I was familiar with it but i was still blown away with the beauty of the screen and the speed of the phone! Im amazed on how phones have so quickly developed. Whatever you decide on, getting the Incredible is the best choice right now :)

she kept trying to sell me on the moto, even though I said I don't want it or the Blur that it runs with. :D
That is awesome

I had a similar experience, I was in a Verizon store checking out the DInc when it first came out deciding if I wanted it or should I opt for a pre plus and there was this girl trying to decide on the Eris or the Incredible and the sale rep was tell her how the Eris was just as good and DInc. After hearing that I had to step in and correct the rep and let the girl know my first hand experience with the Eris. And once I had told her all the problems I was having with eris the rep tried telling us that the lag and other problems I was having was not normal for the Eris. Since I have been on Eris board and seen first hand that I'm not the only one with theses exact same issues, I set that lady straight, needless to say the girl walked out of the store with the Incredible :D

Motorola Droid has no Blur. It's understandable that she would try to sell you the Droid because they really want to try to sell them out of the system.

Ah, I thought it used blur. I wasn't corrected on it either. heh
Oh well, my choice still stands. hehe

And I think she genuinely thinks its a lot better. She said all the employees were given the Inc for free, but she switched back to here Moto because it is better. Then she showed me her moto.. lol

road trip!!!!!

lol, Its tempting. I have other things I need to do, and I won't have my car tomorrow. Otherwise I would probably go for the hell of it. :D

Well with the incredible out why would you purchase the Droid,
minus being impatient

That's what I did last week - thinking I would trade within my 30 days. But since that looks like it might not happen (ship dates keep moving out), I found one at a Best Buy 45 miles away and I am driving up tomorrow to get it. I'll then take my Droid back to Verizon and just cancel the whole plan (did not port number). The Droid is OK, but I hate the keyboard (which I don't really need) and the camera is horrible (something that I do need).

I owned the Droid and it's a great phone. If you like Vanilla android which I do it's not that bad. If you don't like a heave bulky physical keyboard which I didn't then it's not the phone for you. It's way slower than the incredible though. As for finding the incredible, just try a best buy or a third retailer that sells verizon phones. Everybody keeps waiting on Verizon to have them in stock but some of these little third party retailers got them.

moto DEVOUR has blur, but not the moto droid. even tho they both run a version of the Android OS.

Already been mentioned, My mistake. :p

Yea, I cant stand physical keyboards anymore, so it would be a no go for me in the first place. And that was the point, she was inferring it was a better phone all around basically. lol

I live in a pretty small town, and the only verizon seller here is the vzw store and wal-mart. Have checked all best buys around, and as mentioned the closest is 109 miles away. heh

109 miles is nothing. Hour and a half and you'll have your incredible in your hands.

I may end up doing that tomorrow anyways. Have driven farther for less. heh Closest best buy to me is 56 miles away anyways, another 50~ miles wont make much of a diff.

Yeah well something similar happened the other day i went into a verizon store with my friend who has the moto droid because his was getting kind of laggy. The rep said just to wait it out because 2.2 was coming very soon for the droid and it would blow the incredible out of the water with 2.2. Now take it for what its worth thats just what a rep said so most likely its not gonna happen anytime soon. And they want to clear inventory of the moto droids so they have room for the other new motorola phones that are coming out.

Verizon CSRs (in general) are completely worthless.

This.

When I went to order mine, like all CSRs, I was asked about buying the accessories. I'm not much of an accessory man, the phone itself is enough cash to put down, but the lady persistently tried to sell me screen covers, to the point where she said "If it even gets a tiny little scratch, the screen will just stop working."

Needless to say, I still didn't buy screen covers. I know it's their job to sell as much as possible, but damn do they make it obvious.

I have my brother's MDroid sitting next to my Dinc right now. The MDroid looks like someone is resting a Dinc on top of an Evo. The Mdroid is much slower, heavier, and has an inferior camera. The argument that the Mdroid has a full qwerty keyboard is lame. The only people I know who can use that tiny keyboard are my wife and 9 year old sister. There is no contest. The MDroid was awesome 6 months ago. Today it is just another Smart phone, and there is a good chance the Dinc will suffer a similar fate in the next 8-12 months.

The reps tried the same thing when i bought the phone, although he went as far as putting a case and screen protector on. It really irritates me when i say I do not want any of that and then they put it on anyway.

Give it a couple months... the Dinc will be the same way. As fast as Android phones are coming out it takes NO time before they won't be able to sell them.

Think they're learning something? Why keep them in stock, just make enough to sell and that's it because it's just a mater of weeks before nobody wants the Dinc and they have to sell them 2 for 1. At least at this rate (for them) they won't have a boat load of them in stock to "unload".

While the phone is Hot right now I have a hard time believing the lack inventory stock isn't at least partially to cut their losses once the hype of the next android phone kicks in. I'm not saying there aren't supply problems... Just that there is a possible advantage to not having 1000's of Dinc's sitting around. Maybe the Dinc parts are hard to come by because they're already making the next "big thing" :)

At least that's my .02c
