This guy did an exhaustive review of the software/kernal versions -- actually loaded each on his phone to record the info.

Based on this I'm rather sure you have 2.1 v2 leak

lots of fixes in v3, and probably worth doing (note that the info for the v3 leak is precisely the same as post-install of the official OTA 2.1 update)

Just looked up my v3 settings:

Baseband: 2.42.00.04.12
Kernel: 2.6.29-8a03cb9a
Build/software: 2.36.605.1

I should have asked you to post your baseband as well. Regardless, it looks like you have either v1 or v2 based on you Kernel and build/software versions listed. If I were you I would just go ahead and download the v3 leak.

i would get the leak if i were you also.
i had v3 but had a trackball issue so took it in and they replaced it under warranty at no charge. They gave a me a new eris with 1.5 on it and it OTA'd on me and i have the same bugs as v3 still.
