HTC EVO 4G / Sprint 4G Coverage Map Due Out Tomorrow (6/1)

Man if Columbus, OH ain't on that list I'ma bust an artery.. I mean they got Cincinnatti and Cleveland and not Columbus?? Considering this is also Verizon's 4G test city - you'd think they'd want to pimp they're 4G here early to make sure no one goes over to LTE.

I Live in Columbus and I am waiting as well. Im looking at this phone as a 3g only because I don't have faith we will get it.

Just went out to 2 sprint stores, 2 mall box sprint huts, and a clearwire mall hut. All of the sprint places said that wimax is currently active here where I live, Springfield, OR., more specifically the Thurston area. With that info I went to the clearwire mall hut and talked to them and was told that they were not officially rolled out with wimax until July 1. I asked if he had a map for that and he showed me a "secret" map that has my house smack dab in the middle of the coverage at this end of town!!! YIPEEEE for wimax. Anybody else in the Springfield area with any more info?

I think Tampa, Orlando and Jax are included in that launch.. I am going from memory here..

To be honest I think they are going to be a lot more than anticipated..

The original time line was 90 days. about 1 month ago

I ran into a Sprint rep last Friday at a Radio Shack in Jax.who was getting a 4G signal on her EVO. She said it had been in and out that day but it ripped when it was up. Must be getting close!

Please have the OC live!!!! lol

First, this is almost entirely unreliable because it comes from the mouth of a Best Buy mobile manager (just one level up in the reliability scale from a Sprint store manager). However, I was told that he discussed with the Sprint regional rep how far the 4G coverage would go in the L.A. market. He stated that the coverage would extend at roll-out to include Santa Ana. Unfortunately, he didn't mention Anaheim, but we are getting close.

We laughed at the Sprint rep statement because the Sprint Western Regional Headquarters is in Irvine, a city that borders Santa Ana. I mean, if they are going as far as Santa Ana, OC, why wouldn't they include the city they have the Western headquarters located?

Just saying....

IWill cover Irvine according to this article. Hopefully not too far away.

Specifically, Sprint tells me that 4G service will cover most of North Orange County and down to Irvine. At least that’s the plan through the end of 2010
