Need to save contacts...how???

I keep trying these different roms but always have to nandroid restore just to get my contacts back or else they are gone...google wont sync all of them and I tried the export contact app but it didnt save but half of them

So what can I do to save my contacts without the nandroid???

I've used Lookout and everything...and Titanium Backup wont work on the Fresh 2.1.2 rom im using now

Are all your contacts "google" contacts or are some "phone" contacts?

all google...I made sure of that when I started rooting my phone...made the mistake of making them phone contacts and lost them when I flashed Fresh 2.0b

ok, what about the contacts in google are they under "my contacts" or "all contacts"?

I never knew there was a difference...how do I check to see about that and tell the difference? also what do I want them saved under?

On your PC in gmail go to contacts and there is a list for "all contacts" at the bottom and "my contacts" on top. My phone syncs with the "my contacts" list. Select all the contacts that you want and click on "move to my contacts".
Also, on your phone, under people when you first open it click on menu and make sure "only contacts with phone number" isn't selected.

No problem.
What was the solution? Was it the gmail option or the phone one?

I synced it but I still have a bunch of duplicates even though I merged them so I dont know how to fix that...Im gonna flash the rom and see if Gmail will sync them to the phone when it boots up
