Difference between Incredible or EVO4g?

The Evo 4G is not that much bigger then the incredible. Yes it has .6 inches bigger screen but the actual size isnt that much bigger.

There is no track pad, and the screen is the whole size of the front, where we have the trackpad and verizon logo, the Evo 4G is all screen.

I've played with a "display unit", and the Evo feels GIGANTIC compared to the Incredible.

Assuming our ratios stay the same, the Inc has less than 6.5" of screen area, and the EVO would have... 8.25", which is about 30% more screen space. So the Evo is nearly a third again bigger than the Incredible. That is VERY significant.

Not to be mean here, but I think there's waaaay too many of these Evo/Inc threads and it's out of hand.

But I'll try to contribute anyway.

Some people will be biased towards one particular android device, some will tell you pros and cons to each one and some will tell you go get an Apple phone... No matter what the case, you need to evaluate your current condition and determine which phone will work for YOUR needs. Other people shouldn't have to make decisions for other people, or tell you what you *should* get.

I myself have an Incredible, why?

-I already have service with VZW
-I wanted to get a new phone
-I did some research and found that the incredible would suit my purposes
-I personally liked the specs on the incredible
-Price wasn't out of reach
-I would need to make no changes to my already existing plan with a predictable monthly charge that I'm used to.
-and other smaller factors.

Even though I have this phone, I think the Evo is definitely a decent piece of hardware itself (BTW, I wouldn't take any advice from someone who's an Apple fanboy who does a review for an Android phone). One of my friends will be picking up an Evo soon and he definitely likes my phone, but he's on sprint, so it makes sense to HIM to stay with the company he's had for several years because he's content with it.

On the other hand and with all honesty, I like big screens and big phones and I would definitely get a phone with a screen as big as the Evo if it was on VZW, however, it would not benefit me in any way to change over to Sprint with my current situation and therefore I won't get an Evo (but that don't mean I don't want to play with my friends' when he gets it!).

It really comes down to what works better for you. I hope you can at least take some good points from this rather long post.

Verizon or Sprint? Answer that question first before moving onto specs, because IMO, if you can't make a phonecall in areas you frequent the most, then the phone is useless.

Edit: Just curious, I saw that you made that "Best apps and best games" app, saying you were looking for more to download. Does that mean you ended up buying the Incredible??

Great post. Completely agree with your assessment.

The Inc and EVO are basically the same phone. Biggest and main difference for me being the screen size. I would love to have the screen, but would rather stay on Verizon.

the Evo is nice. i work at a Radio Shack and we have a working demo. it's basically the same phone as the Inc, just bigger and on sprint. i'll keep my Inc. :)

and yes, i am sure half the customers we sell it to will come back and say the battery sucks. that huge lcd screen is going to murder the battery.

Yeah, I don't really get how anyone can act like the EVO and Inc are that different. Same proc, same OS, same variant of that OS, all that separates them is screen, storage, camera, and carrier. We're not talking Inc vs iPhone or Blackberry here.

exactly.

i could care less about low bitrate 720p recording, a 2nd camera on the front, the larger and worse screen or the HDMI out. i would never use the 720p video recording, second camera or the HDMI out. 4g is nice i guess, but sprint was premature on releasing it, and having to pay an extra 10 bucks for it when it's only available in 25 cities and not that much faster anyway is ridiculous. the wifi hotspot feature is nice but not worth an extra $30 a month, so again, it's useless to me.

the Inc to me is still a better phone on a better network.

Seconded. The phones themselves are not that different. It largely boils down to VZW vs Sprint, plus the so-called "4G" factor.
