about 80%. :D I unplugged it at 340pm.

4G off, auto brightness, wifi on for an hour, GPS on, BT off.
Facebook and twitter sync every 4 hours, newsrob every hour, remember the milk every 4 hours, friend stream every day, stocks every 4 hours, weather every hour.

During that time I browsed the web for half an hour, sent some texts, used google maps, and a couple phone calls, took a pic and a min long 720p video, and ran a speedtest.

Looks like the stock battery is pretty adequate, but I still ordered the seidio one.

Oh, I did plug it in to the computer for 2 min to transfer a video.

I keep seeing these posts about this great battery life and i cant get this type of function no matter what I do. I lose 20% in 6 hours without even touching the phone.

This is because you have background apps eating up the battery. Try using a task manager (but don't close any system tasks!) and close some of the widgets that you don't use. Get the spare parts app and try and hone your battery life with that, I've always had great results!

And I have had nothing but terrible results using Task Killers... I don't feel there is a need for them and they screw things up on my Hero (and no I never closed any system tasks). Instead I got way better battery life on my hero by changing my settings much like the OP has done here. Big thing for me was putting my email on Manual rather than constantly polling (Pop3 emails 3 accounts) and changing Facebook and Twitter to every 4 Hours. Several other tips and tricks you can find in both this Forum and the Hero forum. I can't speak to the Moment because I have only had HTC devices

I am not using any task killer. I did use ATK on my Moment, but that was mostly to free up ram. Since the EVO has so much ram, I do not want to use it (yet).

If you have twitter and facebook auto refresh, I'd bump it to a longer period in between refreshes. I have mine at 4 hours.

Remember the milk also syncs every 5 minutes on default. I changed mine to 4 hours I think. That's good enough for me and gives me a good boost in battery life.

The accumulation of posts I've read seem to suggest that auto-updating/refresh features, tasks running in the background, and general system management settings need tweaking to maximize battery life. Guess I'll be doing manual refresh when I'm out and about and auto when it's easier to recharge.

I'd say to disable Wifi, Wimax, Bluetooth, and maybe GPS radios when not in use. GPS maybe not so much since I don't think it does much unless an app tells it to pull your location. Also disable any widgets that constantly pull info from the internet if you don't need them. I think the radios and the screen will be the biggest drains for most people so don't use 'em when you don't need to.

Why is the cell standby so high? Will we have to go through the exercise of setting the AUTO CDMA radio fix on the EVO too?
