Screen back bubbling

I dunno if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but as of a week or 2 ago, I've noticed the "invisible shield" (for lack of a better term?) on the backside of my screen is bubbling. I don't know if this is because I pop open the screen too often (coming from a Sidekick for 6 yrs, I use the physical keyboard constantly), or if its that, combined with the incredible amount of heat I've been experiencing lately from the CPU area.

Either way...anyone else having this issue?

I have 3 Droids here... 1 that has the plastic removed and 2 that don't. Don't notice a difference either way (They have been this way since release day).

As far as your question about the debate, you'll have to check back further in time since the phone was released. Many people left it on and many others took it off. There have been "quotes" from those that know someone who told them to remove it and others posted the opposite. I have seen many debates on this subject on at least another half dozen forums as well...

If it's bubbled, take it off. I would think that if it was bubbled, and you use the physical keyboard, you would risk adding plastic shavings to the device (due to the friction during the sliding action).

It's the same as the plastic they stick to the screen of your new dvd player. Just keeps scratching from happening in shipping.

The first 129 rounds of this conversation were had back in the middle of November last year. All those plastic peel offs are just to stop any damage during shipping. It's just like the plastic piece you peeled off the screen when you first got it. The only reason there is a discussion about it is that most people didn't notice that piece to begin with (including myself) and so weren't sure if it was supposed to stay there.

There is no way Motorola would design the phone so that it needed a piece of crappy static cling plastic to keep the slide out keyboard from getting loose.

I took mine off b/c it was bubbling & it started to come off when sliding my phone open & getting jammed in-between the phone halves. Didn't wanna eff my phone up lol!

My dad and I both have droids, he didn't peel his off, I did. We both got them on release day and there is absolutely no difference.
