I was wondering if anyone knew about what deals will be available for Hero users that want to switch to the Evo? Is there any way switch to the Evo without further extending the length of your current contract? Do you have to start paying an additional monthly fee due to the fact that the Evo is a 4G phone? I currently have the Everything family plan, and was thinking about using the Evo with just 3G, if that was possible. Thanks

If you bought your Hero at Best Buy

Depends who you know/talk to. generally no but people claim they have.

yup

If you want the EVO you have to pay the $10, even if 4g isn't in your area.

a dealbreaker is an additional ten dollars per month, per evo.
a cellular device is not worth an additional, tertiary monthly fee just to own it.
ill be waiting for the dual core snapdragon chip...or the htc legend
there is a lot more then just owning the device, it costs lots of money to send all this data that we think is free, and it costs lots and lots of money to build the towers and maintain them, so a 10 dollar fee is nothing, plus that 10 dollar fee does give you UNLIMITED 3G/4G service, not the 5gb cap that is on most devices, so you can use as much data as you want, for 10 dollars that is dirt cheap, so stop bitchin about it please

29.99 gets you 4g/wimax.
the 10.00 is merely an owners fee
